Wonder how many Oxbridge graduates on here would keep up a pretence for the best part of a day for a bet they never done at all?
Also would there be anyone on here that think Pakistani judges wear wigs?
Report Ozymandius January 9, 2015 4:46 PM GMT
How far did you make it, Kavvie?
Report Ozymandius January 9, 2015 4:48 PM GMT
Touched a nerve, Pa?  I didn't mean to.  We need men like yourself to work a pneumatic drill s for 40 odd years, it's essential.  Thank you.

And for the record here is a list of wig wearing Judges in pakistan,

2 degrees oz.i got sick of it.i could have gone on,but i had enough and am in a good job..

I am not judging either way, Kavvie, it's just interesting how you closely you can map thought patterns on here by education levels.
Report pa lapsy January 9, 2015 5:00 PM GMT
Funnily enough the other 3 you mentioned are so far ahead of you education wise or other wise that it is very ironic.
I packed up night college in order to earn money with a cp9,no regrets,it had to be done.

Age and religious beliefs would two other major determinants of general outlooks on here.

If you combine 'old', 'uneducated' and a 'believer' you practically have a group of people thinking in lockstep, and seeking comfort and solace in each other.

Pa, Tony was working the docks at 15, ditto Wonks cleaning stables. Borneo only had a sort of primitive hedge schooling (a huge loss he would have loved academia btw).

Why use the word " dropped out "

Most people here seem to have a difficulty in understanding everything is of its time.

People of my background were educated at National school, secondary school was not available for the likes of me.
When you did the Primary you left and got a job, free education hadn't come in yet.

Another feature would be that our children would all have been educated to Leaving cert level and beyond.

It is also possible to go to night classes as an adult.

Many had to leave school in the 60s to help out at home , no shame in that , in fact these people helped shape a country that was emerging from terrible poverty ..Work at mostly manual jobs for low wages ..The lucky ones who had a chance at higher education were mostly from well to do families ..We never asked HOW they got their money , we never wanted to embarrass them ...
Report Ozymandius January 9, 2015 5:04 PM GMT
I don't follow Wonks, embarrass them , how?
Report pa lapsy January 9, 2015 5:07 PM GMT
You should have learned it but you haven't,the simplicity of basic engaging with another person should have been elemental in giving that your parents paid probably quite a lot of money. Instead the other 3 leaves you miles behind in that department,it can't be bought.
Report workrider January 9, 2015 5:08 PM GMT
God you really are slipping , how do you THINK they got their money ..Take your time theres a good man..
Report Dan Chipowski January 9, 2015 5:09 PM GMT
I'll never understand why the same people on here keep feeding obvious trolls.
Report Ozymandius January 9, 2015 5:10 PM GMT
Calm down, Pa, this isn't the first time your blood has been up this week.  Put your feet up, man.  Have a brandy even, you've earned it!
Report Ozymandius January 9, 2015 5:12 PM GMT
I give up, Wonks, how did well to do families make their money?
Report Rocketfingers January 9, 2015 5:12 PM GMT
Scouse Tony (Nap)

Scummy Pa (N.B)

Wildman * He comes from a rich farming background so i would say he attended a private boarding school and while he may have struggled thru school though but he certainly attempting his leaving course.

Wise words from Dan,you are right, the arrival of the man-child makes it a bale out.
Report Ozymandius January 9, 2015 5:15 PM GMT
Rock, you think Borneo is only pretending to be a man of the people to curry favour on here?  Is that why he wont meet the other chaps at the racecourse?
Report frank60 January 9, 2015 5:22 PM GMT
THEY say in days gone by you could be judged[money wise] by the car you DA drove, in my case The Ford Anglia, still they were happy days
Report workrider January 9, 2015 5:34 PM GMT
Ozy you are letting your skirt slip a lot these days ..Awhile ago you started to let slip your REAL AGE ,below you state some on here of a certain age are seeking solace ..Over the recent past I have been monoriting some of your thoughts on things ..The first to get my attention was your belief that George  Best was one of the all time greats , no harm in that you might say .Only most people in their 40 and 50s would NEVER have spoke about him , few if any ever saw him play ..So he was of little concequence in their sporting lives or had no impact ...The other is , according to your most recent posts in answer to  my question of how old you were leaving Uni , You made a case for been roughly 24/25 , summising you got a job straight after Uni that would make you around 26/27 ...The third thing you said that made me sit up was , and i qoute , I worked in England during the TROUBLES , now people who spoke of the TROUBLES usually meant the 70s at the very lastest early 80s ..Allowing you to be refaring to shall we say 1985 , that been a lenient take on your age makes you at LEAST 56 ..I'd hazard a guess that you are in fact retired and are more near a pension than MOST on here .....Welcome to the 60s mate....
Report Ozymandius January 9, 2015 5:40 PM GMT
The thing is Wonks, I know you are a bit obsessed with me, and my age, so I sometimes throw you a bone to chew on, that deflects from the truth Wink
Report workrider January 9, 2015 5:45 PM GMT
Caught with your knickers down mate , I wasn't even on that thread when you opened your gob , a little distressed are we now the truth is out you OLD FART....Laugh

how many alleged Cambridge graduates spent most of their day making cranks on the Betfair forum??

Sad way to be.

Ozy is very keen to remind us of his education, but is shy about telling us what he's done with it.

Achievement is more important than Education.

I'd wager he hasn't done much. Which is why he spends so much time entertaining us here
