It looked like Cooper gave Lieutenant Colonel a great ride on Sunday, especially when you see him tucking up Russell before and after the last. When I looked at the replay I thought he was lucky, because (a)he kept using his stick in his right hand all the way to the line (b) the horse ran straight as the barrel of a gun, and (c) a tired horse could have easily hung left and handed the race to Jetson in a Stewards Inq. - I am glad he didn't as I had a few bob on him.
He did the same on Identity Thief in the 1st race on Sunday when he beat Paul Carbery on Snow Fairy, although Snow Fairy never looked like getting to him.

My point is why run the risk of losing a race just because you didn't change hands. Or do the younger lads shy away from using their left hand in a finish when the older lads are up their inside. L Dempsey on Bentelimer did the same on Monday when McCoy was on the rail, Dempsey's horse hung badly left yet he continued with the whip in his right hand right to the line. He kept the race after a SI, winning by 1L helped here.

The complete opposite to this, was Ruby on Shemshal on Sunday. After the last he started to hang right onto Mr Diablo (L Dempsey), but if you look at the replay you will see one of the quickest change of whip-hands and the horse straightens and wins.

Is there actually any left handed jockeys out there?Like naturally left handed jockeys?
im sure there is but i cant think of any,im assuming if your left handed and your a jockey you'd use your left hand for the whip?
