hard to call oz,
They havnt been afraid to kill off the stars in previous seasons and it would be a bit of a kop out if he survived so my guess is he,s a goner. Theres no ready replacement for him though except the Spanish guy or fran out of jail and trying to muscle back in. Great show though |

i doubt nidge is dead.siobhan is def dead but nidge is a grey area..surely if he was the would have put a camera on his still dead face ala siobhan?
|

By:
ye good point but maybe the image of him face down in a **** with his king nidge runners sticking up more striking in his case.
Its good carolan is not easy to predict and is whats made the show imo |

Was he was wearing a bullet proof vest? You would expect him to be but the blood marks suggested otherwise.
As you say, old, Terrence 'Big Balls' could return from Spain to run the show with Fran as his sidekick. Terrible loss if he does go, but the show did get over the loss of John Boy before, so... |

Nidge is as dead as a dodo....an excellent show it was.....but will lose much credibility if Nidge is resurrected....
Terence May is an excellent actor and is a ready made replacement for Nidge.....he more than proved last night he had the vicious streak that the top crimelords will possess.... Id fancy Siobhan has a better chance of being alive than Nidge....and poor Fran looked fairly well snookered the last time we saw him as well..... |

poor aul fran will have difficulty once or twice a day for a while...

Brilliant ![]() Great show alright. Fran a superb character, funny fu**er!! Shame Siobhan saw the door, cracking looking doll. I was told there would be two deaths in it last night, so Nidge may not be a goner yet, though it looked for the last few shows as if Big Balls was being readied for the role. |

yeah but big balls has a gobal empire to run ,ireland was just a small part ,i believe big balls is based on ur man keane or kinane, the big crime lord in spain reckon to have close to a billion in assets in 2012 when there was a joint operation in europe to bring him down ,they slowed him down but stoppped feck all, most of the stuff is loosely based on real events ,so am told

Certainly gripped the nation.
Did anyone else find it hard to understand some of the Dublin accents ? One aspect I found remarkable was here we have a violent gangster series yet the writer had to be politically correct,in a craven piece of capitulation he inserted a scene where the pipe bomb maker was about to slit some unfortunates throat,he has the corpulent traveller taking his son aside to explain traveller ways and traveller culture showing his soft and tender side, this was solely put in out of fear. The writer was afraid he would be accused of anti traveller bias or the biggest fear of all racism. The scene was needless pointless and a monument to the modern tyranny. |

This season seemed very rushed, just went from hit to hit to hit. Perhaps they don't have to budget to extend the season to 12 episodes, calm down, and focus more on backstory and character development.

The gardai is one aspect that doesn't really work for me. Whether it is the calibre of actor or dialogue or whatever, just seems to not quite work somehow.

The final scene didnt work either.
If I at my age couldn't outrun that fat traveller I would deserve to be shot. The series did show the obesity problem in Ireland. You expect old men to be big bellied but here its the amount of fat young men that concerns. |
|
By:
Fat young men don't really bother me......its the fat young women that I have an issue with!
The two main cops are very poor actors. |
