A pleasing end to a story that caused quite a stir on here.

It is a pleasing story because the Irish state won't have to stump up the cash.

Fair play to the donor he didnt go down the usual route, demand others to pay,he did it himself.

It was a collection of donors, rather than one.

What happened to your concerns that she was taking the place of an Irish person?

Are you able to follow anything, she no longer is.

This is a good news story because these donors didnt suffer from the Bono/ Geldof syndrome demanding others pay they put up their own cash.

As far as I know they have not extended the class size, therefore some other student will lose out.  Strong odds on chance that that person is Irish.

Very little chance of it being an Irish student.

The donors have paid her fees on the basis she isint from the EU.

I suppose it depends if quotas for non-Eu students are rigidly fixed per class.  In my experience, it varies.

Those universities seem to be allowed discriminate.

The International students help fund the universities so necessary.
