two decent races at the course today that will produce lots of winners..definitely races to sky+ and watch again..the 1.10 FLETCHERS FLYER won the bumper @punchestown and has always been well talked up harry fry says he'll want 3m in the future but starts him off here @2m 4f, hes short but imo he deserves to be and ive backed him accordingly..but SHANTOU BOB, will make him go some and greatrex makes no secret of the regard he is held in..so if there are any floors in frys horse he'll be found out..JOFFERY of jonjos, and PADGE evan Williams make this one of the hottest maiden hurdles the track has had..
4.10 the bumper is a minefield and put in the too hard box by me but one thing im sure of is that it has a few nice sorts that will go on to better things.i would go with the bowen runner GHOST RIVER as I backed it on debut but if that was to win this carrying a penalty then he must be a decent sort imo..the booking of paul carberry takes the eye for the Curtis team..and likely favourite..the market may be the best guide..but I,ll just watch this one and enjoy...good luck all.

ive said im not backing in the race snap...my point being I couldn't back it cos of its penalty...that's the only reason I wouldn't think about it..weight is a big issue in these races...ballyknock lad..is a big chaser  in the making but kim bailey has a fair record here..as I said its a too hard race for me.

1st race looks a few decent types alright Tony,no bet but i'll look at it with interest for that Punchestown bumper. £1946 to the winner, that is shocking.

Ffos Las, Chepstow and Uttoxeter are the three worst race courses in Europe.  The ground is mostly like quick sand and anyone who runs a horse at these courses would want their head examined.

The ground is shocking most of the year round at those three particular courses.  All you have to do is look at a handicap chase at any of these places.  Horses out on their feet after half a circuit. Awful places

Unlucky there Tony. Ran and travelled like much the best until he got bogged down. A must next time up. Jumps beautifully.

I understand bigwilly, but the ground is poor at a lot of the courses in the winter..norn..I backed padge on debut ..he was disappointing..no doubt the further he goes the better..
yes joe, he did but the last jump bollixed him..and you don't get paid out ...a touch disappointed he didn't win tbf..but he'll be better the further he goes..very good race tho the winner as I said has always been the apple of his trainers eye...you pays your money..i was on the wrong one..

Its only a lend for that particular animal anyway Tony. He'll win good races this year.

Some of Fry's horses seem to be needing there first run this year. Highland Retreat blew up badly on her novice chase debut in Cheltenham last week having jumped great for the majority of the race. She's a stout stayer and a battler but she cried enough jumping the second last. Your always taking a chance backing first run of the season for any stable and by the end of the season i predict the 3rd horse will be rated a stone better than his two conquerors today. Granted thats no consolation to todays followers.

I think we might of seen our first champion bumper runner there..but as I thought the bowen runner gave it 7lb and ran well..thats a decent horse who,ll win races..but I was impressed with the Curtis horse tbf..?

Thought Fletchers Flyer was home and hosed there (traded at 1.20),wouldn't be sure the horse didn't slightly injure itself with that awkward jump at the final flight.

KL,
What kind of money did Shantou Bob (M Goff) make after his Dromahane ptp ?
By:
Bigwillystyle
When: 28 Oct 14 18:25
About £30K.  Wouldnt be much improvement in them from where he came from.  Didnt impress today either.  Reckon he is quite ordinary.  Didnt travel well but slogged it out.  Handicapper is all he will be.

FFos Las is a complete Shiitehole.....infested with croooked dirty taffys.....and with gluepot ground that suits hardly any horse....
As for the horse today making 30k.....he may be no flyer but hes very cheap at that.....typical point stuff....they know the price of everything and the value of nothing.....if they have a knobb horse they are looking for the sweep for it.....and when they do get a good one.....they give it away....
By:
tony57
When: 28 Oct 14 21:39
that's harsh paulie..lol..but you make a good point about 30.000 for that winner of the first today!

Cruel the finish of that race Tony.
Think i agree with your take BWS,actually comes out a few pounds better horse than Buster Dan Dan through his point.
Don't know what Barry Connell paid for Rocky Blier, but looks some prospect.

Sorry Pa,
Only see that Shantou Bob was beaten a nose (by a possibly v good one of Nicky's and with BJG strong in the finish I presume)- actually he was not in my note book and missed that race on Friday too.

Waitng for Bigwillystyle to reassess his form - "Reckon he is quite ordinary...Handicapper is all he will be" Surprised Blush

Fwiw - Had a few of Fry's noted thanks to joevalue147's comment on October 28 - "Some of Fry's horses seem to be needing there first run this year" - and indeed some did !
