You would have to fancy City to lift the title,God you done well getting a ticket, they are like gold dust  in Cork and Dundalk, hopefully its a good match,
Report Rocketfingers October 22, 2014 10:30 AM BST
I still fancy Dundalk to win it as they are the better team but my word they have made it so difficult for themselves, very hard task at hand, hard to knock other teams off the top never mind on the last day of the season. If i can bet them at odds against i will though. Enjoy the game AH

How often have we seen this happen in sport , the nearer they get to the line fear raises its ugly head. Dundalk have now started to experience this as the end gets ever nearer. Can see them wilting under the pressure. Cork have more players who have already crossed the winning line , experience of winning titles is a big plus , I see this as a massive test for Dundalk and fear they might lack the experience , nothing to do with bottle I might add , just not been able to close the deal ..Cork have the players to see this out , and I can see them holding on in what promises to be a real nail biter , can see this game ending in a draw ,  so a lay of Dundalk will be my bet...

Pile on Dundalk so everybody............
Report workrider October 22, 2014 11:26 AM BST
Can you pm me Thick , you're so in the know its unreal , week after week 20/1 shots winning , if people only knew your rate of success , you could name your price and it would still be a bargain ..Can't wait for your next piece of inside information , please hurry ..
Report Rocketfingers October 22, 2014 11:34 AM BST
2.10 on Dundalk is value for sure with Vic's firm to win the league is a bet, evens or even shades of odds on is value in my book strictly speaking but i'd want a little extra given the circumstances.
Report freddiek October 22, 2014 11:47 AM BST
consensus is Dundalk are the better side but have let it slip in the League this last few weeks.

great climax to the season for neutrals but obviously would have preferred it be done and dusted by now.

can remember being in Oriel on last day of '95 season when title was won.

an awful lot of bad has happened since then but the club are back where we belong now.
Report workrider October 22, 2014 11:55 AM BST
Fred , they have played some sparkling football and should have had it wrapped up , but inexperience just might find them out , looking forward to a smashing game , and may the best team win...

The destination of the league title is now a toss of a coin. Wonky says Cork. I need say no more.
Report frank60 October 22, 2014 12:30 PM BST
This time last year St Pats had the league won and the President of Ireland was at Richmond park for there last game v Cork, a nice moment at the end of the game was the Pats fans going on to the pitch and singing Michael michael give us a wave which he did, have a good night Applehunter and like Workrider says may the best team win.
Report huddys October 22, 2014 7:02 PM BST
Just backed Cork to win the league at 10/11 max bet, once they don't get beaten on Friday night they will win the league, think its a smashing bet,
Report Rocketfingers October 22, 2014 7:26 PM BST
Huddys that is a shocking poor value bet, ignoring what i said as obviously it can still win, but i see the same bet almost 20 points higher, Cork +0.5 is the same bet and i see that at 2.09.

Worthy winners, tried hard but not good enough tonight.
Report wildmanfromborneo October 24, 2014 9:50 PM BST
Fair play to Dundalk did it the hard way.

I am ashamed to say I didnt know Tommy McConville was dead,am genuinely saddened by the news was a thoroughly decent man.

On what I saw in the League this year by far and away the best footballing team have won it,well deserved.

Report Rocketfingers October 24, 2014 10:18 PM BST
Well done Dundalk, best team in the league, huddys i told you that was shcoking poor value Cork drifted up to 2.28 to win the league believe it or not.
Report wildmanfromborneo October 24, 2014 10:29 PM BST
Whilst Slickster doesn't give free tips thank god others do.

Two separate threads nominating two horses in Dundalk, one from J R Hartley the other from Workrider both winners.

No good to Slickster as they were given Pre race but a 8/1 and 5/2 shots shouldn't be sneezed at.
Report Rocketfingers October 24, 2014 10:41 PM BST
Stop, stay off this thread you Wildman it's about football, no one is slagging anyone else, please don't turn it into one.

The hypocrisy is simply stunning.
Report applehunter October 25, 2014 9:37 AM BST
No complaints.

Dundalk played all the football and City just couldn't get going.

There's always next season.
Report freddiek October 25, 2014 12:13 PM BST
sums it up well applehunter, although Cork were unlucky not to score themselves. Me heart nearly stopped when O'Sullivan's header flashed wide just before our 2nd goal.

always good to have a Cork team contending in the League and they will be strong again im sure next year.
Report punkha1 October 25, 2014 12:56 PM BST
Seen this tread during the week but tbh I was too nervous to comment.Really thought we might have blown it.
Amazing way to win it really means a lot to a football town like Dundalk the place was buzzing.
Fair play to Cork they really made us earn it.
We've had some hard years but great to be back at the big table.C'mon the Town!
Report frank60 October 25, 2014 1:41 PM BST
well done Dundalk,
Report punkha1 October 25, 2014 11:59 PM BST
Yeah Wildman Tommy Mac is dead a year this week.
What a player he was.
Maybe he & a few others recently departed were looking down on us as there was a good shout for hand ball for our 1st goal though I think over the season we deserved it.
Report slickster October 26, 2014 6:11 PM GMT
As wonky would say, wildman has selective hearing..... He sees what he wants to see! Grin
Report wildmanfromborneo October 26, 2014 6:20 PM GMT
I see you tracking his every post, sniping every now and again but I have yet to see you create a thread.

I suppose its some kind of tribute to Workrider that you follow his every word.

I think you are a classic case of Stockholm Syndrome.
