Never been the same since the Clown Prince retired many moons ago . Used to be one of the feared teams in England . I would blame the government ( I always do anyway ) . In the old days 2500 would not have been able to afford to travel to Southampton to support their team either , so the problem would not have been apparent . And the pleasures of the south coast would not have been helped by the time of the year , Southampton was boat country when I was there many years ago , and the beaches were shingle .
Bucklers Hard was an interesting place though . Shades of times when England ruled the waves . Not any longer . |
