According to timeform her 6 pound penalty won't stop her and according to sporting life preview her 5 pound penalty won't stop her. So considering the penalty is only 4 pounds.......

Tis a fairly lenient penalty for her alright,it was fairly emphatic, she has won in yielding but according to Shark wants good dry ground, with the recent rain and heavy showers forecast i,d be careful til ground is known.
Report Jumping October 6, 2014 9:07 PM BST
Penalty not rise. Because within the 5 day stage. Rise was 7 pounds so will be 3 pounds higher in future. According to jocks thr yesterday it was still ridding good.

Hi Jumping, speed figures for Sunday= soft side and more rain has fallen since. Looks like Y TO SOFT

I don't like her jumping?..but anything belonging to the shark puts me off..not a bad card there today..ive backed FESTIVE FELON 3.55, the horse looks a chaser..was out of its depth lto..if the jumpng holds I think it,ll go well..the bumper is a decent race?OUR BENNY and PAPER LANTERN look the 2 for me..don't know yet if,i,ll play..

Decent card today @ Tipp and have gone for a of couple of e/w selections:

Drive the Bus 12/1
Big eyecatcher when third @ sligo ran ok @ rosscommon since. Big field and strong pace could suit also as he looks a bit of a tricky ride.

Chief admiral 11/1
Point to point winner who also has decent track form most notably when second to hunting party. Trainer often has them well schooled and ready to go after a break and would have a strong chance on form if that was the case.

Good luck all.

Mc Manus pulling his horses out because of a going change, fair play, the ground is given as yielding,if the ist two races was anything to go by tis soft,a lot of horses beat too early and well spread out, will the times back it up? Very poor to have a ground change after the 1st race and the sun splitting the stones, very slack and know its a bugbear with many on here, there is very little reason an accurate ground description couldn't have been given hours before racing.

indeed pa..the clerk of the course has to take responsibility?
Report wildmanfromborneo October 7, 2014 3:10 PM BST
Ground looks fine to me.

Anyway it doesn't matter to Fennis Moll she goes on any ground is in form and 4 pound won't stop her.
Report pa lapsy October 7, 2014 3:15 PM BST
I think it is slow Wildman, fair play if you and Jumping are right with fennis Moll but i,m place laying her, think it is too soft for her and not many will finish this 3m unless they crawl.

Report dj876 October 7, 2014 3:21 PM BST
The first maiden hurdle was run 5 seconds faster than standard and the second one just one second slower than standard so I wouldn't think it's that soft, hth.
Report pa lapsy October 7, 2014 3:26 PM BST
Bit stunned with that ^^

OUR BENNY n/r now...my only bet is PAPER LANTERN in the bumper..mullins horse is odds on in the 3.55..clear round and it must win..
Report pa lapsy October 7, 2014 3:37 PM BST
Thanks, the ground and them times have me fluttered as a lot seem to be struggling there + JP.
Report tony57 October 7, 2014 3:45 PM BST
you did well pa..place laying..i only layed it
Report pa lapsy October 7, 2014 4:29 PM BST
Maybe just very lucky Tony, i could have swore it "looked" soft and the deflections i wrongly assumed backed that up,the official f/c is given as good and in all honesty i won't have placed layed her then.
Report richters October 7, 2014 4:41 PM BST
jumping are you connected to the shark outfit I seem to remember you starting a thread about a horse of sharks in the same colours in a bumper a while back, think it was an ex Shadwell horse with irregular betting patterns on here,i think you were trying to ramp the price if my memory is correct, maybe im wrong but same stable same colours.....
Report pa lapsy October 7, 2014 4:45 PM BST
Sent you a message there Richters.
Report winsamsoon October 7, 2014 4:48 PM BST
If the rail has been moved in for fresher ground the start and finish line remain the same so they are running a shorter distance, hence the quick times. That 2yo that JP bought that withs Tony Martin broke the track record on soft to heavy on the Saturday at Galway, probably ran half a furlong less than at the start of the week.
Report dj876 October 7, 2014 5:06 PM BST
It's a farcical state to not know the distances or have an accurate ground description. The times since the first 2 races have all been roughly 10 seconds slower than standard and along with JP withdrawing his representatives it must be slow enough. It must drive connections bananas to arrive at the course after being in contact with the course to find that the report is inaccurate.

Excellent thread. Good insightfulness with fellow Punters trying to help work out a race instead of acting the kn0b with each other. I hope its a sign of the times with the national hunt about to kick into gear .
