Decent flat card in Galway today culminating in a right little maiden.
Plenty with chances but at least the market reflects that,can't really have Ballinrobe form but the Leopardstown third of Thunder Zone looks good.
That was the first run of the grey son of Shamardal,he looked like one that would come on for the run,jockey and trainer in form,he looks a huge price to me.

The 1.9 on Archangel Raphael in the first looks to be an early Christmas present. Looked all over the winner at Killarney first time up, only for inexperience to ultimately prove costly. Considering how much APOBs generally improve for debut, and that he ran to about 80 that day behind a winner with solid maiden form, its not unreasonable to expect something close to 90 today. That will win this ten lengths.
The draw is obviously not perfect, but only a handful off these will be taking any interest from an early stage, and Joseph should be able to get across without using too much gas. In any case the main market rival is drawn further out. I think its a case of fill your boots to be honest. |

Its just as well they went quick, or he might have been caught in a pocket, and tapped for toe. Though on the other side of it, if he had a rail draw he prob would have won ten lengths. Could have bought an ice cream on the way around the route he took!

Botanical Lady looks a good trade in the 6.05. She may indeed win. Done too much too early at Bellewstown last time, and paid the price for it. But back down to 7 today, coming from trap one, at a course she is obviously effective at, I can see here having them all in trouble coming down the hill. She may or may not see it out off her current mark, but I will be surprised if he she doesn't head under 3 in running.

Backing 2 in this Callit , Mansuri Glassatura , for very small money , Keane should have won on this lad at Leopardstown awhile back , ran on really well after getting stopped in his run , looks as if a stiff 7 is up his street , Glassatura has disappointed connections recently they will be hoping for a much better run this time , had a little nibble @ 25/1 on here...

Didn't go to plan. Slightly missed break, had to work to get to the front. Put in to lay off stake at 4, and then at 2.5 for level profit....hit 4, but mine wasn't accomodated

The Roscommon race may have come to soon for him but he still is a bumper horse in a 12 furlong race,he is National Hunt bred.
Willie Mullins and Colin Keane are positives but despite all that and my poor laying reord he still represents a monster lay to me. |

I tend to agree with you as Tramore form is always weak and 22lbs is some hike but I am slow to lay Willies even though they are undoubtedly underpriced at times. I thought Pat Flynns was interesting as he is unexposed at a track Flynn does well at and Sean Corby is more than capable.

Its a shocking bad race though WMFB. You would be hard pushed to put forward what you would consider viable 'runners' for you. Should prove too good for them imo.

If you had laid it say for a grand say,would you not have taken a potential €950 profit with no risk during the run (as it developed and only if you got top price,wouldn't work out like that but you get my gist)
You said he was a bumper horse over 12 f so you thought he was going to trade higher so lay to back was the play? Not aftertiming btw had no involvement in the race. |

I was rubbing my hands after the start,if I had a back in I would have been knocking over furniture to cancel it,the same when he was behind a wall of horses on the far side.
The only time I thought he had a prayer of winning was at the furlong pole. |

The next looks equally as bad. Oxx's obviously has its limitations, but apart from APOBs debutant its hard to see what else will run to a mark good enough to beat it. APOBs makes a belated debut in blinkers, and the market is hardly shouting it, hardly a future star.
Columbanus at a massive price is one that could do better than the market suggests. Had a few quid at 130. |
