Cilian's Return 4.40.
Not for a moment suggesting this as a bet but what a fascinating runner in a 1 mile maiden. Bumper runs include a beating of Vigil and running Black Hercules close, enough to say he would certainly have been near enough in the champion bumper.
Of his rivals Intisaab looks very beatable,O'Briens Quartz could well be very dangerous,Lucent Dreams last run took a bit of a knock with that winner well beat next time, all in all other than the big question with Quartz i don't think it is a very strong race.
The trip is an unknown, but has run well however after a break,is this a pipeopener for his NH campaign as the trip is the perfect excuse?how will Fran ride him?

I haven't backed it Tony (yet anyway), think he is potentially a quite exciting horse over jumps,Martin can chop and change them over codes. The trip got me puzzled and hence the post, surely could have found a longer maiden for him. Looking through his runs he is a very good traveller who finds in the latter part, couldn,t see anything to say to me how he will cope if taken out of his comfort zone early, the gut feeling is not very well.
As said in OP don't think it is a strong race,it's one that captured my imagination all the same.

I take in all you say pa..lookingover the runners again the race is weaker than at first glance...just that trip rings alarm bells..

If he never ran in bumpers and over hurdles, you would say that this is his trip, as he is not bred for the NH game.

I have not seen him in the flesh, but he does not look the biggest, so he could well be a dual purpose horse going forward.

Maybe he is getting him handicapped now as much as prepping him for his novice hurdle season, but I guess he may well be getting ready for a novice hurdle at Listowel or something like that.

Thanks DV,maybe he is trying to get him handicapped plus a pipe opener,a possible Prescott special with the trip?, anyway Tony think you have been looking at it right, despite the very class bumper form it would take a fair leap of faith over a mile, may well win but couldn't be backed for me. Good looking card there tomorrow and i'll wait til then.

Haha(3ml), not a great race, see that a lot that its tight with bf and sp with shortish ones, lot to be said with bog and books.

True Pa and a little worrying , seems they are cutting their margins very fine on here..

Mr. Martin wins with the other one.
Cilians Return was weak in the betting missed the break badly and stayed on well after not getting too hard a race. Certainly looks as if needs a bit further but thought it was quite a good run, job done in regards part one in codding the handicapper.

Just over £300 matched in the 6.15,9/4 here on the fav less comm, 9/4 with just a few books and a general 2/1, you are getting nothing WR,if the horse drifts you lose out,if a N/R you lose out,a stewards you lose out. Been saying it has gone shocking for the smaller Irish meetings on here for ages.

Wonder why that is Pa , is it because they are wiry of Irish racing the liquidity is so bad ...

A combination of a load of reasons i,d say WR,people are not very in love with bf these days, you can see why the book is a better bet a lot of times despite the over round, high charges, dilution of punters to their bookie part,"taxation" of winning market makers, banned in a lot of countries and hikes in comm in others, and of course natural wastage.
Don't think it is just Irish racing,a smaller golf tournament can be chronic as well i/r as there is often only pull your pants down prices on offer.

I fancy one tomorrow Tony,i'll be holding tough this evening.
Fav should nearly win the last,Lucky Bridie is a talented monkey,i'd be afraid if i went on the fav,the other L B would turn up.
No opinion on the other one, just a fair jump in class for Renown, looks a decent field.

Tony if having a bet , would be backing Mangans mount , good form in Galway , but with Willie having two in it you'd never know what might happen...
