Read in the Irish Field that the Turf Club did a random inspection and some horses that were registered to her were not at home when they called. She was fined 650 euro. A few other trainers had similar fines for the same offence.

Is this not a very serious breach of the rules that should warrant a much heavier penalty?

Not really, what penalty do you want.

Those falls have taken their toll, she is wracked looking but well able to train deserves more horses.

She does well enough with a small string.

Joe Murphy the in form trainer, has a great eye for a horse.

I think it is a serious breach, the missing horses could be having illegal treatments at an unlicensed stable.

I'd be inclined to agree with you mrcombustable , every trainer should have the book thrown at them for that , very serious indeed , so WHO'S REALLY training them ....

The question I would ask who is TREATING them (not suggesting there was anything untoward in this instance). If we are to ensure our house is in order wrt drugs then this is a serious issue

lots of lads training their own horses and running it under a named trainer.......saves on admin and insurance etc.
It happens the other way round also......A trainer having a few in for a permit holder who loves to see his name on the racecard.

Spot on Workrider. You would often hear the auld form students say about a certain man " Great man to do a dog". The hardest job he has is collecting his dogs from the trainer before 430.
