By:
I mean Britain America,..not Ireland?..why would you think I would include Ireland in this?its a political point...
By:
i agree with much of what you say, you're on on irish forum though saying we so one would assume you're referring to us
By:
Phew, for a second there I thought you were incriminating us, Tony.
By:
don't be silly lads..jesus Ireland had the good sense to stay out of the shitte...my point is the brits and yanks broke it..i was against it all..but im all for going in here..

Yep, because the Kurds and the Christians were living it up under Saddam before 'we broke it'
By:
no oz..I take your point..but if I had the choice of saddam or these animals..i know which I would chose...when we went in we opened a can of worms with no plan to sort it..now we have what I and others who are savie on the subject say is a lot worse than saddams time...but we are were we are..and its what faces us now...

What about Israel slaughtering women , children etc ??? ... Seems Israel can kill whoever they want and USA does nought ??
By:
I agree timberman..but the israel issue is another matter....
By:
anyone here savie on the Israel issue?
By:
When Tony says 'we' he clearly means the encompassing 'Western 'we'' ...of which Ireland is a component part at so many levels. I know what he means and it doesn't bother or confuse me at all.
On the other hand the idea that anything Irish politicians say about e.g. the Middle East impasse makes the slightest impact is faintly ridiculous. They just utter the usual, trite, emotional verbiage that everyone else does. At least it gave the Senate a chance to get away from the subject of over-aggressive seagulls in the Dublin region. Irish politicians want no children to be killed in war ?- yeah , that makes them pretty special . So, if no one said anything it would be assumed they were ok with it? Pope prays for peace. ![]() The coverage in Irish media about the Gaza issue is hugely biased -but nothing really surprising there unfortunately. |
By:
Tobywong and Irish Guy two gentlemen whose contributions are usually inane trite and foul mouthed object to certain topics being discussed here yet they aren't compulsory.
The Israeli situation is best explained by If the Arabs were to lay down their arms there would be peace. If the Israelis were to lay down their arms every Israeli man woman and child would be killed, that's the harsh reality. |
By:
Harsh wildman;. but most likely you are nearer the truth

As we watch the horror in the comfort of our living rooms i cant help recalling a chat i had with an R.T.E editing man a few years ago when he said 70% of the film they get from these war zones makes its way into the bin,; we could never show most of the film on tv he told me.

By:
Israel are blowing the **** out of Gaza and people seem to think its ok ..150,000 marched in London today against The butchers of Israel ...
By:
As London is almost an Arab city hardly surprising.
By:
Hardly wildman just they don't believe your Israeli buddies should be allowed murder women children etc without a care in the world ... Be very interesting to see how many women and children they have killed over the last 6-7 years ...
By:
I think we should just agree to disagree here, you are normally one of the sounder posters here.
By:
A new line in diplomacy; lets just 'agree to differ' on the subject of genocide
. |
By:
* 'agree to disagee'

By:
Its that misuse of the English language, that exaggeration that has all but made rational conversation impossible.
By:
I suppose if Maggie Thatcher had decided to level West Belfast back in the day you would have been cheerleading her too.
By:
No cheer leading here, just think the Israelis are allowed to defend themselves.
If you think that constitutes genocide its proof of your propensity for hyperbole and exaggeration. How you have squeezed Maggie Thatcher into this discussion is a mystery but I'm sure you will find some way of saying its all her fault. |
By:
I suppose attack is the best form of defence. Should Maggie have nuked West Belfast or blanket bombed South Armagh?
By:
Of course she shouldn't.
Is your hatred of Israel so deep now that you think they nuked someone, they didnt even blanket bomb anyone. More misuse of the English language, more exaggeration more propaganda and emotionalism. |
By:
How much compensation do you think these poor Muslims in Gaza are entitled to iyo?
By:
I don't believe in compensation and were compensation to be given the lads in Hamas would scoff it,buy some more rockets.
By:
They might be able to afford some decent rockets, though make a fair fight of it.

Girly? Now hold on a minute there, Borneo. There is no call for that sort of remark.
