Tadgh O Shea was let go because of a disagreement with the owner on how the horses were being ridden. Ronan Whelan seems to ride most of them now.

Love the way you put things wonky so heres my view.Gary should be doing Gers gardening and Tadgh should be the owners painter and decorator.

In the case of both decisions here, the owners and trainers involved have come to the right conclusion. Keane might be the next stable jockey at Ballydoyle once the weight beats Joseph. O'Shea is a better work rider than a jockey from everything we have seen and heard.

I think that's a bit harsh neill,..o,shea had a good job over here I think he may be regretting going home?

I thought that was always the perception of him Tony, that he was an exceptional work rider to bring on young horses and that was the main reason why he had the Hamdan number two job. Very tidy rider but I've always had the impression that he lacks a bit of physical strength in a finish.

You're right, he should have stayed in the UK because Hamdan is very loyal and he would have had a job for life, might have even trained for him.

The every day calibre of rider in Ireland is higher than in the UK and I think Tadhgh has been a little bit exposed since he came back. They ride so tight here, even a bad Dundalk meet on a Friday night for example, you just cannot afford to mess up positionally. I don't see Racing every day but I'm not sure he has been where he needs to be in that sense and that is why Long has gotten rid.

well put neill,..my point was he seemed to do ok over here but your point is well taken about the better jocks in Ireland..

Some fantastic jocks in the UK as well, but you know yourself about some at the smaller tracks.

Thistle bloodstock do not have the firepower to employ a stable jockey. Maybe looking out at a few fields full of foals by The Carbon Unit might urge a lad to move on.

As for O'Shea, he's been one lucky boy imo to have landed the jobs he has, but he's found his level now, riding them 'rags' for Kinsella.
