Times change,people change.

Certain views are not allowed.

Any mention of Israel not followed by spitting is not allowed and removed.

Any post saying anything in defence of the nuns doesn't last long either.

In some way you could call it pay back time but this new enlightened censorship ( in their eyes ) is deeply ironic and a sign of things to come.

There was a revealing incident on the Marian Finucane show a few Saturdays  ago.
She was chatting away amicably to a young man about his various interests. Then he mentioned that he had often visited Israel and actually liked Israelis and enjoyed his sojourns.
Ms. Finucane immediately morphed into an apoplectic harridan and started verbally battering the guest like a Hamas commander -her voice rising in shrieking decibels of disbelief that anyone found Israelis less than the devil incarnate.
It would be a brilliant excerpt to play for a media studies class to show how on a rare occasion a built-in bias in a broadcasting organisation can become as clear as the light of day.
It was a sad episode that was almost funny in its weird clarity.

Can't disagree with a word of your analysis vubes but some balance please: you omitted to tell us the "young man" was a disciple of Brendan O'Carroll

to be fair to Marian, i think she's been there herself more than once and is probably basing her opinion on fact and not sky news type hysteria. don't think most palestinians argue with the existence of Israel.

Mmmmm...they were probably operating under the misunderstanding that Palestine was some sort of Mecca for Gays.  Cape Town, Sydney, Rio, Birr outskirts and Palestine.

Ridiculous that your 'Gays for Palestine' post was deleted.

It's very hard to believe that anyone here would bother reporting that!  You are clearly a watched man.

Wildman the irish have come a long way where Censorship is Concerned, one of the best examples of this is the R.t.e programme the Savage eye .i recon betfair forum have to be careful about the written word but i do enjoy the posts of your good self and ozy Grin p.s. i dont also agree with them but the forum would,nt be the same without both of your imput.

disgraceful that wildmans posts are deleted..it happens regularly now..and I for one one has sent a message to betfair to ask why?..is free speech not allowed on the net?
By:
Ozymandius

If it is free speech you are after...set up your own blog or website.

Clearly Betfair cannot allow certain views to reflect negatively upon them.
By:

what views have reflected negative on them?

Take your pick.   Homophobic, xenophobic, racist...need I go on?

It is there perrogative what they choose to censor.  If you don't wish to be censored simply use your own platform.

do you care to post one of the three/..the man is not racist, homophobic,xenophobic?..you may disagree with what he says..but surely you defend his right to say it?..but what I have seen he is not any of the three?..so for me its silly to delete posts that are not blatantly as you suggest?
By:

Obviously his view are deemed to be offensive or inappropriate or they wouldn't delete them.  That is Betfair's perrogoative.

I defend his right to say whatever he wants on his own platform.

You do understand, that this platform is regulated by Betfair and its contents can be seen to reflect upon them?  We are not free to say whatever we like on their platform.

I understand completely..but my point is I believe its well over the top for what they(betfair)or mods..(on behalf )think his comments will offend or upset..its his point that its precisely why the country is the way it is because you cannot defend your beliefs or tell the truth..i.e. muslims..cos everybody is scared to be accused of racism?....to say Wildman is upsetting people with his views is not true..so therefore why delite

They are clearly upsetting Betfair otherwise they wouldn't be deleted.

The " Gays For Palestine " poster seen on the anti Israel march was hardly homophobic.

I highlighted it for the irony, here was a group of Gays on a political march supporting Palestine not realising that if they were living in Palestinian controlled areas they would be persecuted and would end up vaulting the security barrier to get into Israel where they wouldn't be persecuted.

Ozymandius point about it being their website is valid and one I acknowledge.

I think I will have to create my own blog.

^ oh dear...I imagine it was deleted (rightly or wrongly) not because it was deemed homophobic but rather because of the views expressed on Palestine justice and society.

Let us know the blog address...(I see you as an Irish Howard Stern shock-jock minus the smut).
