The racecourse is nearly a hundred years old but none of us ever realised how good the five furlong sprint track is for locating Royal Ascot winners.

I was surprised to hear The Great War was a good horse when he made his debut in Tipperary, won easily but following on from Anthem Alexander's victory in the Queen Mary we can expect a Royal Ascot two year old double for Tipperary maiden winners.

Gordon Lord Byron won an 8k handicap over the 5f there as well.
Be stunned if The Great War if he doesn,t make that double, has done everything so far very well.
