Don't have to be p2p bookies to pull a stroke , even at the dogs , fellows would be backing w/o , and not have a certain dog priced up , so in effect you would be rushing in to have a bet thinking yours was second fav , while the sleeper wasn't even quoted ..A strange lot these lads ...Did you read you read MR GRAHAMS letter today ..?..

I read the letter alright and I think he has a point.
The on course betting shops should have the same rules as anyone else. I would love to be able to walk into the betting shop and take a show,would love to avail of their double result concession but that won't apply to me,that only applies to drunks and known mugs. Lots of shrewd men attend race meetings,no way are they welcome in the on course betting shop. |

Opening post removed again,kind of makes a bags of the thread.
In answer to Gemini,the concessions given by the chains only apply to small bets. Saying they bet double result is wrong as it only applies to some customers,same with BOG. I would love to see the racecourse betting shop take singles but they should be made take a bet,they should price up any race they like and then lay them to lose twenty grand That wouldn't last long,Kasper Gutman,Brad,Cork card player and others would clean them out. Look what damage Pa Lapsy would do if he could get big money on,have no doubt it would swell the racecourse attendance. |

backed a horse at the bonvilston p2p about 6/7 years back had £20 ew at 13/2 bookie wanted to know if i owned the horse after i finally managed to prise the winnings out of his hand
