Hi lads,

Right we'll get down to it.

Ozy and Callita have both muted the idea of a forum competition in aid of charity on a couple of threads.

I've just been in contact with Ozy via pm and he suggested the World Cup and the below format.

If we could get 32 forumites to enter at 50e a throw.
Teams allocated prior to event by online electronic random generator.

something like...1st Prize 750e 2nd 250e 3rd 100e....remaining 500e to charity

All entrance fees paid prior to team allocation via visible online site i.e. a specially set up justgiving page...where players can deposit 50e anonymously i.e. showing their forum name only

I think the above is a really good shout as these things go. If anyone would like to enter, sign in below. We'll deal with the administration a bit closer to the time. We'll just focus on getting the 32 over the next few days.

Last thing, lot of derogatory stuff written here... sometimes it hits the mark and is really funny, others it maybe goes a bit far for some people's tastes. The important thing to remember it that even if at times it may seem malicious, it really isn't. This forum is mainly just a group of lads hopping ball with a common interest.

Callita, if you have any thoughts on how this should be administered, ie. how to navigate just giving and how to divy up the €50 between prize and charity on that site; Even on how you were going allocate the teams via generator, drop me a PM.

Just to confirm, the above structure suggested by Ozy will be what we are going with.

It's a good question about justgiving.ie...if you can retrieve some of the cash cash to re-distribute for prize giving.

I'd like to propose Borneo's Charity of choice..Injured Jockey's Fund. I know Paulie might not approve...hopefully he will win it!

Count Me in , I'd respectfully suggest that we divide the charity winnings between the IJF and CRUMLIN CHILDRENS HOSPITAL , as most on here know they need as much as they can get in this financial climate ...

Count me in Neill.

I have had no dealings with Justgiving Neill, other than the other day, when looking up Injured Jockeys Fund. Maybe give them buzz, and explain what ya looking for?

To avoid all arguments over potential charities, maybe just give 250 each to the two finalists choice of charities??

Yeah finalists decide, so that is grand. Will look into the other.

I suppose if we got to 16, each entrant could have two teams.  What do you think, Neill?
