A right little flat card there today.

The Aidan OBrien horses have been backward and running poorly ( Exotic disgraced herself yesterday ) but not so the two year olds.
The Great War looked very good in Tipperary and his other runner ran well in Cork considering his head carriage.
He runs War Envoy in the first,a War Front colt that is well entered up,he runs three in the fillies maiden,Timbuktu is by what is fast becoming a sire sensation Fastnet Rock, the form of those that have run is terrible I don't rate that Navan race at all.

The Woodlands Stakes is a tricky affair,Maarek needs cut despite what her trainer says,I presume the ground will now be good but the one I like is the only three year old in the race again its an Aidan OBrien and by War Front.
He won his maiden up the Curragh ( always a good sign ) then ran second in a listed race looked speedy to me.

The last race is a creaking maiden.
Weld runs Backdrop here,a rarity in he is a beaten Galway favourite looked terrible disappointing in Dundalk but the way his horses are running can't be ruled out.
Kerkeni is the most experienced could have caught a corker last time ( 6 lengths back to the third ) although Abushamah let the form down,Kerkeni is gelded and could be regressing.
No Wunder disappointed last time in Dundalk but his second to Obliterator up the Curragh is the best form on show.
System Overload has one run in a Curragh maiden,Table Rock has let the form down but he wasn't put into that race, looked a certain future winner to me that day.

To sum up a Yankee for today.

War Envoy 4.55
Timbuktu. 6.25
Guerre.    6.55
System Overload. 7.55

Having no bet today , but one that interests me is .Leitir  Mor in the listed sprint , have always felt this lad has a sprint in him ..It just might be today , a little e/w on this fellow should yield a return...

A nice card at Naas today,

I will be opposing you in the first wildman. I like Packing Go Go. He ran very green first time out and was unlucky to finish second. He had Lupie 2 and a quarter lengths behind in third that day. Lupie was 2 and a half lengths behind The Great War at Tipperary. I suspect War Envoy and The Great war are of similar ability.(Both are entered in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes) Similarly, Packing Go Go has the same Group 1 entry. Lyons's 2 year olds always improve so I don't think there will be much between them  and I think he is value at 11/4.
In the 5.55 e/w 10/1, I like Arctic. He is down to an attractive mark, dropped in class and running in handicap company. He probably needed his run last time out.
6.55 Leitir Mor e/w 16/1. Interesting that he is being dropped to the minimum trip. Often used as a pacemaker in Group 1 events he just might give these sprinters something to think about.

Was not impressed with Maarek last time out . The winner of that race , An Saighdur , was friendless most of the day , a few bob coming for it now . Must have a chance .

Unlucky wildman, two bad rides messed up your yankee.

Hard luck is right wildman......joseph o brien wasnt wonderful on the 2yo filly and possibly underestimated the pace setter.....he was even worse on Masai earlier......but in the shiite riding stakes theres no doubt they kept the best wine til last......Gary Carroll was absolutely shocking on the last favourite.....it should have won easy......Carroll is another jockey who will never win a race he shouldnt.......
See the gotchee got his treble up as usual......another 5 losing bets ......as i said before some people have no shame.....

Paulie spot on about Carroll.  Lost the race in first 100 yards.  By far the best horse in the race.  Had a fair few euro on at decent prices!  He wont be getting the rides at Lyons for much longer.  Keane is a far better rider and would have won on that without coming off the bridle.

A much better race from Maarek as well who turned the form around with a few in no uncertain terms, clearly needed the run badly at Mallow.
Report RoyalAcademy April 29, 2014 10:24 AM BST
Carroll lost the ride on Third Dimension at Limerick last Saturday-he was 0/4 on horse-in favour of Keane and touch duly landed.
