Anyone think Noel Meade could be on for a good day at Fairyhouse.

Tulsa Jack only beaten a neck on hurdles debut the pair clear, Improvement to come surely.

Zigger Zagger a CD winner in his bumper days, Not shown much yet but dropped back to 2 miles for first handicap start.

Ally Cascade unbeaten going right handed twice over CD, Back in trip with Carberry back in the plate.

Wounded Warrior another first time handicapping after a no show at Graded level lto, Won over 3 miles in his point so no trip worries.

Ned Buntline put in his best effort of the season at Cheltenham lto, First time hood and Paul has 2 wins / 3 places from 5 spins on him.
Road To Riches looked a horse with a future before getting injured as a novice, Good first win over fences but has since looked a bit sloppy at his fences, Not sure the drop back will suit but a able second string if he's been schooled recently.

Leaving the bumper alone.

Thoughts ?

Did anyone else notice a tone in Willie Mullin's last few interviews re Arvika, that he might be blaming the surface at Fairyhouse for his finishing?

Real good card tomorrow at Fairyhouse (relativelyGrin), wouldn't be my favourite track (the Irish National is one ugly race for the money) but the Power Gold Cup looks up to scratch. Thought Art of Payroll might have been graded class so worth another go for me at 10s. Could see urano trading a lot shorter in the 3 mile hurdle as well, might be a back to lay.

Have a nice weekend all.

Blue Hell for Tony Mullins in the 3.10,this lad had a look behind Abbyssial at Fairyhouse two months ago.

Given what you'd imagine was paid out, wouldn't be beyone the realms to expect him to be better than 119 at this stage of the year. You'd be disappointed if he wasn't in the 4, it's a festival meet with a big owner plus a trainer who needs to be winning at these places to publicise himself.

A tough card to find winners indeed , Barry says the Irish National tomorrow is the most competitive race he's EVER rode in , not much less competitive today I fear ..For what its worth here's my take on a few...
R.T.World 2.40 ...The ground will play a big part , so am hoping this consistent fellow will come good at last , goes well enough fresh...
3.10 ..One hiding down the bottom of the h/cap that has a squeak is Spacious  Sky with good  a 7lb claimer on board , his run at Navan took my eye , looked all over the winner 2 out ...
3.40..Daneking who finally got his head in front at Navan , is my pick of a very tricky race , sure to benefit from a strongly run race ...
4.10...Off The Charts  looks well handicapped and can continue his winning ways ...
Happy  Easter to all....

Nice to see a thread with some horse racing discussion, Having gone through the card again I've decided on the following.

No bets for the first but Little King Robin will appreciate a drop in class and trip so is worth a e/w interest in the 2nd but only for buttons, Might be covering Black Spot On as a saver if Tulsa Jack goes well in the first.

Covering the Gigginstown pair Ally Cascade & Midnight Chase, Ally is one I've liked for a while so with his course record he rates a fair bet even though he went up a touch for being beat lto(Something that does annoy me) & Midnight has ability but is risky after his last run being so poor.

Bright New Dawn is too big in the Powers Gold Cup, Has looked a more assured horse since the hood went on & missing Cheltenham ahead of today means Dessie will have him spot on for this, 11/2 is too good to turn down even though he has a few pounds to find.

No interest in the bumper but Simon West brings one over who showed very little on his sole run, Guess he is hoping to offload this one as can't think why he'd not look for easier pickings in England so this should be monitored in the betting.
Best wishes to anyone playing today & a Happy Easter to all.

Again nice to see a thread discussing real issues with no contributions from my blocked list.

Really open racing today with the big change in the ground adding to my caution but the ones that appeal are.

3.40 Ally Cascade looked a winner all the way last time and didnt get home. 8/1 not a bad bet.
4.40 Bright New Dawn worth an interest at 6/1.
5.10 Road to Riches if anywhere near Mallowney at the last will surely pick him up. My bet of the day.

At Cork both Toner Doudaires and Sub Lieutenant may win for Gigginstown.

Looks like I am deep into Gigginstown today.

Good Luck all.

I'm also Gigginstown whoring today Santry, Adding Wounded Warrior to my list above, May as well have a full set.
Best of luck.

5.30 Cork: Starry Knight @6/1
Report pa lapsy April 20, 2014 1:38 PM BST
Thought Badgerforts(5.30 Mal) last run was so eyecatching, made up 6-8 lengths after the last lto and had no race,a lot shorter than what i thought he would be today and left him as a few dangers not least Starry Knight.
Have a lot of respect for Pat Shanahan and he has a terrific strike rate when taking them over, also the Josses Hill formline is top class,King of The Picts(3.35 Mus) main bet today.
Santry,s point with the ground is so true, surprised at how quick the ground seemed at Mallow yesterday. GL.
Report The Gotchee April 20, 2014 1:54 PM BST
3 E/W bets for me today in the tricky handicaps at Fairyhouse where good ground form will be relevant.

3.10 Cassells Rock 10/1. He hasn't encountered good ground but I suspect he needs it(Flat pedigree and half brother needed good ground) Top jockey, stable in form, hope he is good enough
3.40 Bishopslough 20/1. Drop back in trip together with the drying ground and carrying a nice weight.
4.10 Flatfoot Boogie 33/1 Ran in a Grade 1 last time out so connections obviously think a lot of this fella. In handicap company today on ground he will like. May have needed the run last time and is way overpriced.
Report easygold April 20, 2014 2:47 PM BST
(3.40 F/House)Steps To Freedom, 16/1??? had a wind op , and that can make all the difference. A bull of a horse, who travels on the bridle but unfortunately doesn`t find as much as expected off it. This op may help in that area and will love conditions worth an e/w punt at the prices.

And I wouldn`t put you off a small lay in-running at short prices, just in-case.......

Nice to see a different name winning a bumper??? Mr Ricci will be getting rid of that FLAT horse soon.........

My tip for tomorrow for serious racegoers is...STAY AWAY ...Shocking there today , full of , fall , fall , merchants as the horses approached the last . ok most of them where kids , but its hard to listen to when you know the implications ...Prams blocking doorways etc ...Doubt it will get any better tomorrow ...
