its the only excitement the fans have......imagine watching the games every week.....im being serious too...... a good ruck is the only attraction for most of the fans.......

seems to happen every season ad infinitum paulie and always the same clubs involved!

youtube ....North Kerry minor match , MOYVANE V CASTLEISLAND ...Just listen to the what i presume to be their parents encouraging their youngsters to fight , you can hear women's voices screaming as they punch and kick one another around the pitch ..Tobywong is this what you would encourage children to do ....Its not just Soccer that has its troubles mate....

Its your loss brain dead jockey,do you follow English football?
By:
i was talking a walk this morning and i came across two little lads with there dad wareing two Shamrock rovers jerseys, it made a nice change from the Man u and liverpool jerseys plus other english premier league jerseys you normally seen on the young lads.

By:
as i said it's time something was done , points deductions and fines for the clubs who cannot control their fans as per most countries , maybe dock the perpetrators dole also!

Toby most league of ireland teams are strapped for cash , and a great deal of the trouble is happening outside there grounds, there might be something good about the last part of your post.
By:
shamrock rovers have always had a thuggish element associated with them, hence the name "the shams".
![]() the only policy is to ban their supporters from away games and keep them in tallaght stadium.that way, they can be corralled and managed.therefore if they start acting the maggot, they can be baton charged and dispersed. no ordinary decent citizens should have to put up with that type of wanton backguardism. |
By:
But let the gaa kids kick lumps out of each other eh Toby....?...What monkey see monkey do...

I have to agree with you Workrider. Set an example at an early age or we will end up with thugs.

huddys.............i watch the champions league and spanish soccer mostly.................i cant remember the last time i watched a premier league game. i wouldnt watch italian soccer if u paid me.
ive watched my local club team in cork a few times but its such poor entertainment, i will never go again. LOI................i havent watched it, but i assume its dreadful. the average premier league game is boring as hell, so where does that leave LOI? poor quality soccer is probably the worst form of entertainment in the world. |
By:
To be fair there has been some quality players from the league of Irland Seamie Coleman featured for 3 seasons, worth every cent to watch him and the same with N'Do currently who has been to 2 world cups with Cameroon.
By:
Paddy McCourt, George O'Callaghan and Wes Houlihan are probably my 3 favourite ever Irish footballers to watch. Hopefully Paddy plays in the league again before he finishes. i'd be there with the hip-flask for that.

Shamrock Rovers fans were always well behaved and welcomed in Galway.
By:
Tks Newmanix , its always a pleasure for us rovers lads to go to that beautiful part of the country , pity it will not be this year , but who knows there's always the cup ...Neill d , delighted you think so much of Paddy Mc Court , my brother r.i.p. was instrumental in him signing for Celtic ...
By:
just to clarify for wonks , all sports do indeed have their problems, the gaa included but they're are repercussions & penalties involved for improper behaviour.
In the LoI this kind of hooliganism has been going on unpunished for decades , and I know its a minority but surely the clubs can do something about it . e.g. life bans etc etc! |
By:
We have given life bans , of that you can be assured ...No club in any sport wants hooligans as members ....
By:
Just as well you not a Milwall fan Toby.[it not as bad as you make out m8] i was at plenty of league of ireland games last year and i saw no trouble, but then im a St Pats fan.

I was in Ballybofey for the weekend , and went and had a look at the gaa ground and the Finn Harps ground . The difference was incredible , I take my hat off to the Gaa ..They have their priorities right , some of our LOI grounds are simply a disgrace....

By:
AFTER TODAY'S GAA INCIDENT , TOBY HAS GONE VERY QUIET , HYPOCRITE OR WHAT...
By:
WILL TOBY CALL FOR A LIFE BAN ON THESE THUGS , I FEAR NOT...
By:
Disgraceful display of thuggery there today - there must be consequences ...this kind of loutish behaviour cannot be shrugged off. Well done to RTE for not glossing over it.
