THE above horse won the first bumper at cheltenham in 1992[ the last race at cheltenham that year]and the following year won the first race  SUPREME NOVICES' HURDLE .. Technically makeing him the winner of back to back races at the Festival ,  my question is this has any other horse won back to back races at the festaval, im sure out there in horseracing land some eggheads  know the answer... im not sure it has happened since....TX

i remember bkin montelado  early in his careeer one day in limerick   was 11/10 joint fav with a good horse of livingstons(I think)..got it hard enough to beat him..i still have the race card somewhere because i went thru the card.pity i was backing in fivers!!

Bumper was not the last race at the festival when Monsignor won and anyway the Sun Alliance is the second day of the festival.

Montelado feat is unique as far as I know.
