A broken heart, a broken dream
A broken plane, a broken team
No words were said, a silent vow
We loved you then, we love you now
The red flag will always fly
For Man Utd will never die
Report tony57 • February 6, 2014 5:14 PM GMT

Report workrider • February 6, 2014 7:10 PM GMT
Vubiant , its even worse when guys on here take it to extremes , some of them have never been to a LOI game in their lives ..Yet they show such wonderful loyalty to THEIR team across the water ..Its no wonder the English call us thick ....

Is it really necessary to turn a thread of remembrance into this?
Report pa lapsy • February 6, 2014 8:30 PM GMT
Yep of course WR and huddys correct and funnily enough Rocket was always quick on here to castigate the across the pond supporters but no this was written for one person only, the umbrage taken when Tony made a witty comment earlier was a disgrace in light that it is okay to spit roast a forumites daughter,no all that was just jocular, two facedness of the highest order, screaming for apologies and not a murmur of one for his own behaviour.

a new low ! but nothing shocks me from this individual and his followers.this thread started out as a noble rememberance thread but unfortunately it has been hijacked by this subversive element who want to force their fascists views on the ordinary decent formites of the forum.

Sixty Seconds of Silence

Hold your tongue
Speak not ill of the dead
Find your own silence inside
Seeking only the truth
That boys in their prime perished that night
And the very heart of this city stopped beating
Manchester flowers
Scattered across a foreign field of powder white snow

News hissed through
Like the gas on a cooker whose flame had blown out
Freckled faced paperboys on Peter St and Piccadilly
Cried louder than they had ever cried before

Sons were lost
Mother’s sisters and wives deep sighed
Dads and brother died inside
And red and blue stood side by side by side
In silence
Because silence is so much louder than applause

Kingrat keep sending messages to RoadRunner as he would be a magnificent addition to the team.

RoadRunner is the best judge of a race after the event so a perfect for the after timers club,if you could get Tobywong you would have the nap hand.

Report wildmanfromborneo • February 6, 2014 9:53 PM GMT
Kingrat you should side with Tobywong as his only claims  to fame here is his after timing and his vulgarity.
Report tobywong. • February 6, 2014 9:56 PM GMT
my only regret is bothering to reply to you , you are a sad bitter twisted man who spends his time trying to start arguments on a sports forum , I have better things to do that converse with someone as pathetic as you , cheerio!
Report wildmanfromborneo • February 6, 2014 10:01 PM GMT
Oh dear.
No more vicarious threats of violence
No more foul mouthed rants.
No more of the legendary vulgarity
No more of the spectacular after timing

Your confused, why did you say cheerio so.

You have form in that regard,on the infamous Dundalk thread you said you were blocking me but promised no more replies but couldn't control yourself so came up with a foul mouthed rant prompting a great reply from the much missed Tony Fenton,he said I see the block button isint working again.

Is this a thread to see who can use the most commas in a post.
Report Kelly • February 7, 2014 4:13 AM GMT
I remember the Munich tragedy , it affected a lot of sporty people because a lot of those involved were household names , including several Irish , thankfully only one of whom died ( Liam Whelan , a superb footballer of the time , inside forward , not sure what they term that in modern day parlance) . Jackie Blanchflower  suffered serious injury , dont think he ever recovered fully to previous  proud footballing family traditional level . The biggest hero of the hour was Irish ( allowing his Coleraine roots )in Harry Gregg , who survived the trauma and maybe grew to be a stronger person post Munich . Certainly Harry seldom talked about or referred to the events back then , maybe they were too painful to a man who was quiet ( except possibly on the field which is OK ) and just got on with the job in hand , viz stopping goals.

But it was 56 years ago plus , and most of todays fans have no hands on experience re the event . The media and the authorities treatment of the pilot as blameworthy was scandalous , the only positive outcome on the whole event came  much later post thorough and historical review/ analysis of events in aviation terms .
