imo kimmage is the best irish sporting journalist by a country mile.i have often read some of his stuff and said wow!this guy is good.interviews his subjects and then his brillance as a wordsmith gives the reader a deep insight of the subject(character) at hand.he has consistenly been writing great columns for years.the only other irish jouralists with kimmage's talent was humphries
when it comes to integrity, kimmage has it in spades and i would say that has had a detrimental effect on his career.he has soul! |

I have written on this topic before but none have survived.
That area in South Dublin is sensitive and beyond criticism, there is however a growing list of the disaffected and there may be a reason. Interesting that Kingrat thinks he is like Tom Humphries, that gentlemen seems to have disappeared but will always be known as Gary Sliotar. |

My Dublin geography not the best but look at the subterfuge I am reduced to.
To me that area produces people who let down their friends, are litigious and don't know the meaning of the word loyalty. |

How is it ruined,it lay there without a response for ages,is that what you would prefer.

Kimmage is quoted as saying that he was eager to get out of writing it 6 months ago,you would wonder what really happened.
Whatever people's personal opinions are on Kimmage,he is undoubtedly a talented author. I would imagine he was struggling to find enough interesting angles with BOD'S clean image. The better sporting autobiographies generally involve a chaotic personal life or some controversial sporting incident-difficult to drag too much out of Gatland dropping him and can't see him saying anything controversial about his team mates. |
|
By:
I agree. I like Kimmage's writing but he is all about finding an angle.

A poor writer who more than likely wanted to invent stuff.
