Anybody who has been following the play off threads will know what a profitable couple of weeks its been so lets hope it continues.

The total points line had been moved from 54.5 points to 56 points in the New England v Denver game. Still liking the overs regardless. Alot has been made of the apparent improvement shown by the Denver D last weekend but not buying it personally. I thought it was more down to negative play calling especially in the first half on San Diego's part. In running might be the way to go just to make sure Tom Brady is fighting fit after been apparently ill midweek. PP doing alternative special New England plus 7.5 and over 54.5 points at 7/5 which is the main play. Backing New England on the moneyline at 2/1 as well.

Cannot wait for the NFC game also. This will be a war of attrition. While I initially thought Seattle would win this game I now am not so sure. The 49ers got an air of destiny about them and were very impressive last weekend. The officials will play a huge part in this game. Seattle were the recipients of very favorable officiating not just last weekend but at home in general. I love their D but they get away with so much in terms of uncalled penalties. San Fran getting 3.5 points in what will be a very very close game is the play. Best of luck to all betters, lets hope its another profitable weekend.

I genuinely see both games as coinflips so at the odds I am am happy to back both outsiders tonight. Both games could not be set up better Brady v Manning, 2 of the greatest of all time. Both teams D are there to be shot at and come crunchtime in the playoffs I'd rather be with Brady over Manning any day of the week.

Hawks v Niners will be epic. Is there a more bitter rivalry in team sport anywhere at the moment. It's like Galway/Tipp in the 80s! The key to winning will rest on the Beast. Watching Lynch in full flow is an awesome sight. If San Fran can somehow manage to nullify his influence they won the game simple as that. I think they can get it done tonight but either way I can see this one coming down to a late field goal so the +3.5 looks a gift. I would recommend also backing San Fran now to win the superbowl now as if they win tonight they win it out. Take the 15/4(365).

Picks
Pats Win 2/1,
49ers -3.5,
49ers to win superbowl 15/4

San Fran are widely available at +4 and 4.5 with Sk(eye)bet. I'd already taken 3.5. don't think it will matter though as I think niners winCool

I agree with you 100% Mr M could not have written your piece better myself. Its a good sign we are on the same wave length again, cause if previous play games are anything to go by we usually been right. I wrote in my initial piece that while I felt San Fran were under priced at 9/1 to win the big gig especially if you backed just to win each game odds worked out bigger than 9/1 the 15/4 is not a bad price now. I like you think that if they win tonight they win it out. Rivalry actually reminds me of the recent Baltimore/Pittsburgh rivalry.

I'd agree on both games as above, but I'm just having one bet.
Patriots to win, 2/1

can't wait for brady v manning!

Brady wants some kick up the hole for his performance so far tonight. Allowing himself to be sacked there on 3rd down was shocking. At least for us Pats backers they still managed to get some pts on the board

The points blitz I was expecting is certainly not materializing. Not looking good for us pats backers either :(

Awful stuff from the Pats tonight, feel embaressed for having tipped them up. Oh well,it's one of those where you just gotta pick yourself up and dust yourself off. On to the next one we go.

I need to apologise as well. Points well under and pats not at the races at all.

San Fran all over the Seahawks so far. Need to make it count on the scoreboard though. The difference in intensity between both games is like the difference between league and championship in hurling. In other words, whoever wins this game, wins the superbowl

I agree Mr M, always fancied an NFC winner regardless. When a team like Arizona had the season they had and could not make play offs says it all really.

What a game!! May the best team win!! Obviously I hope that's the niners but this is what NFL is all about. My concern is that whoever does win this one will be knackered while Peyton and his buddies are sitting pretty with their feet up after a handy win in the AFC

Two week break should be enough but your right I imagine the winners bones be a lot more weary than those of Denver.

San Fran getting alot of bad breaks here
Report Mr Mischief • January 20, 2014 2:40 AM GMT
Talk about some bad calls. That still doesn't explain Kap throwing the ball directly into the grateful hands of Seattles secondaryAngry

Ridiculously poor throw out of Kap

This game is no good for my heart
Report mr phantom • January 20, 2014 2:52 AM GMT
Game over now. Easy say in hindsight but that throw should not have been made into double coverage. Poor day on the punting front
Report Mr Mischief • January 20, 2014 3:13 AM GMT
Yeah, flat out bad plays by me, Kap is not to be trusted. God only knows what he was thinking throwing the ball in the direction of Richard Sherman on 2nd down, with a whole 2 Timeouts to utilize, were they trying to make up for their poor play at the same juncture in last years superbowl or something? As the old story goes the definition of insanity is not learning from your mistakes.

I don't think we were wrong in second game, I think the best team lost but that is sport sometimes. Some of the officiating calls were disgraceful but the buck stops with Colin K.
Report Mr Mischief • January 21, 2014 2:45 AM GMT
Mr P, we were indeed wrong. When big plays were needed the likes of, Wilson, Lynch and Sherman stepped up, nothing to do with officiating. It's definitely not all on Kap but he was very poor in the 4th.In what was always gonna be a tight game the big day players came out to play and they were all wearing Seahawk jerseys. That's not to denigrate the SF D who wre brilliant but the gamechangers were all on the other side.
Report mr phantom • January 21, 2014 3:24 AM GMT
Going to have to agree to disagree there Mr M. There were three calls that had a huge impact on the game. The most notable was the non call on roughing the kicker, Seattle got great field position and a touchdown followed. Immediately before that the Davis catch then fumble to only retrieve again was called an uncompleted pass when it should have been. The difference was going from 3rd down and 2 back to 3rd down and 10 which resulted in punt and the non call. Also from the first half instead of a stop San Fran got punished for a non existent dangerous hit. For CK to throw ball away once was bad enough but Sherman should never have been able to get close to finger tipping second ball, in that scenario that ball should be thrown out the back and not into double coverage like happened.

the bad luck evens itself out supposedly! However, the Niners have had a hell of a lot the past few years.

SF had the more talented players no doubt about it, but Seattle have the better team for toughness and will to win.

Crabtree is a joke of a player. His effort to catch the ball over the middle was laughable. He doesn't want to know. He's a big time charlie. I had him for over 54.5 rec yds, and he got 52. Only an interest bet, but if he has 1% of the toughness of Anquan Boldin he would have caught that ball. Harbaugh is embarrassing himself saying Crabtree is the greatest catcher of al-time.

Kap is so talented, but his decision making is still not at the level it needs to be to win Superbowls. Early days yet for him. and maybe Crabtree can develop that toughness for going across the middle that's needed in the future.

49er defensive front 7 outstanding again. If we had a Richard Sherman on our team that would take us to the ring, I reckon.

Great sport nevertheless, and thoughts go out to Navorro Bowman who tore his ACL and MCL. Terrible bad luck.
