I see Nicky has Une Artiste entered at Thurles on Thursday ..Can we expect a regular raiding party if this venture comes to fruition . I for one would like to see more competition for these kind of races , and welcome the challenge ..Very competitive racing looks in store on thursday if the main protagonists stand their ground ... Well done Thurles ....

tis great to see.  sure the prize money in the uk is so poor, it makes sense.  most irish horses sent to the uk are for strange gambles and to get the rating more favourable. also irish corses drain a lot quicker than the uk ones, its probably an excuse for nicky to spend a night in jessies and have a good feed of brandy.

He also has another entry on the card too workrider, just looked at the entries for the grade 2 novice chase 1.35 at Naas saturday, there are currently 12 entries 8 of them from Gigginstown.

It will be great if these races now have a little more substance to them , rather than the usual training spin , Im sure the levy board will be delighted with this change ..Maybe its a wake up call to the home trainers as well , more of them should be aiming their charges at these races ...

I understood we had just got rid of them - only joking. It would be great if we had more competition both ways and not just for Chelts Aintree and Punches.

He has probably backed Nicholls for the trainers title so wants to earn his prize money in Ireland for the next few months.

It looks a very good bit of placing from Mr Henderson.

Pa , not before time either , I think with Willie firing so many blanks in the UK some of them have asked themselves , what is there to be afraid of ..Maybe his UK venture just might have started to  backfire on him ...

Thats a very weak race tomorrow for a G2 WR,yet worth 34k to the winner, the novice hur G1 at Kempton last Saturday  was worth just 18k to the winner, accept that low level of prizemoney isn,t always the case in better grade over there.
Think overall the chasing mares are very weak here, they will always send a raider for the G1 chases like the lexus/hennessey where they have a chance. Don,t seem to want to take on the FLY in the G1 hurdles, not sure about the nov chasers, probably would do okay, doubt it with the nov hurdlers.

Willie has been bringing over mostly ordinary horses and leaving the best ones at home.  They will get no joy over here.

Think Byerley Babe is a lovely mare.  Looks like she is mad to jump.  Paid for my year at Christmas.

See Une Artiste opened up at 5/4, bit stingy i think even though thats probably right on the ratings, nice run by Byerley Babe last time indeed and she has some decent form previously behind Glens Melody, a fair rise in class all the same for her but conditions to suit. At the prices think Caoimhe,s Delight is a little big,had a few good ones behind last time, that would also bring Kates Benefit well into it on their Cork run. Still all in all loathe to be against Geraghty,s though think Caoimhe,s should run well.

^ 5/4 pp and 9/4 with both coRals and 3.65,bit shocked, a big difference

I would agree with the entirety of the ^^ post including Caoimhe's delight. Une Artiste is moderate and isn't straightforward (highlighted by the fact she refused to race on her only other start in Ireland).I'd be laying her for as much as I could at 5/4 but that won't be possible.

The 16,s on Caoimhe,s is a semi rick by 365 and looks like coRals blindly followed, she could well be 4th or fifth but think she is as likely to be in the frame, good chance she will go off 8-10/1.

Wonder if workrider will keep the faith with Folsom Blue tomorrow?
The 2:45 looks a cracking little race,Last instalment makes his comeback after almost 2 years off,Watching brief with this fellow imo i'd say they'll be happy with a clear round,Few quid on Baily Green for me.

I shall be a layer of Baily Green tomorrow Chelt , if the price is right that is ..I think he peaked last year , I'm reluctantly refusing to have a bet on Folsom , after seeing  his last run  not sure if hes made for chasing , if he wins tomorrow good and well , but i'll be keeping a watching brief ...A smashing midweek card , and Thurles should be congratulated on doing what some of the so called bigger tracks couldn't do , and thats attract runners from abroad....

If the real Baily Green turns up he would have a big chance but thats a big if with this trainer, he did go off at huge odds at the festival so wouldn't surprise me the next time he shows his true colours is at the festival in March?. Its a very competitive Kinloch anyway where cases can be made for nearly the entire field in some form or other.

I don't like novice chases so I'll give them a skip.

The maiden hurdle has a load of potential improvers and 2 who stand out on form Kylestyle was 2nd to Western Man who has since run Mullins hotpot Vautour close but I'm going to have a few quid on Roman General who is dropping down from handicap company to maiden company after running 2nd to Sea Light, form that should have him bang on the premises at the business end.

I know Sarabad is hard to win with but he still has the best handicap form on offer by far against tomorrows weak looking opposition, and with the drop in trip sure to suit and the hood applied Sarabad gets the nap vote.

You could be right re Baily Green wr,i just think 2 1/2 miles suits him a hell of a lot more than 2 miles,
He's a very hard horse to get right though,ye just don't know what to expect,i should have mentioned he'll be a bet for me price depending!
But looks a very good race on paper and will be enjoyable to watch no doubt.
GL all having a bet.

Chelt , decided to back Folsom having looked again at his last couple of runs ..He has to be backed to place imo , so have backed him to place @ 2.02 and a little to win @ 7.11...good luck today , btw not laying Baily , hes a little too big for my liking ...
