The strange plastic shield Tom Queally was wearing today in front of his face at Southwell?

Bit odd  I thought...

I've always thought he was trading as much on his looks as his talent snap!!

Maybe going for a bit of a superhero look I was thinking?

SuperTom or something maybe...

I think he's in a bit of bother career wise snap, Cecil seemed to like him as a person more than he rated him as a jockey. That is not to say he is a bad jock, he's far from that but I don't think he's top class. His horse for next year looks to be Margerson's good filly. He'll need her to keep him in it at the top.

I wouldn't rate Queally at all. His judgement of pace is very poor, Steve Cauthen he aint! Huge break for him landing Frankel, and even nearly managed to get him beat in the St James Palace with a horror ride. Seems a decent bloke though from what I hear, so best of luck to him.

just wonder how much his involvement with the man from the north done for his career;-) Same with spencer, career seemed to go down hill with increased involvement? just a theory

Funny game, Spencer and Frankie both looked basically done (relatively speaking) and then some middle-eastern fella with too much money gets a hard on for them and they are back in business. They'd both be a lot more naturally talented than Tom though.

Nice chap, but wouldnt have him in my top 10 of flat jockeys in UK. Not the strongest in a finish either.

A theory on the mask thing it might be just to avoid the splashback around Southwell, will be intersting to see if he brings it to Dubai with him!

I reckon Godolphin are sorry they lost Frankie. SDS not so bad, Barzelona is useless. Frankie may not be quite the force he was in a finish anymore, but he makes few mistakes, very few tactical errors, and still wins races he shouldn't from stacking them up off a slow gallop.

well it is definitely for the splash back but my problem with the one tom was wearing was not aero dynamic enough. should be more like the one cyclist wear in time trials. (Would look far more professional as well).

Frankie well past it imo, wouldnt rate Barzalona or SDS either for that matter. That whole blue operation is poorly run compared to ballydoyle imo

Crowe looked like a passenger on the horse, never looked fully in control of him, strange race

Maybe so Snap, but one thing that Ballydoyle could never master as well as Godolphin was the art of the pacemaker. And still they struggle with it.

but why did crowe pull the horse up? he was back on course and in the lead.  Explanation does nothing for the sport.

STEWARDS REPORT

Alan Crowe, rider of Moonlight Boy, trained by C.Roche, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is a difficult horse, that unseated him on the way to the start, hung badly right throughout and jumped badly right and was subsequently pulled up.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Moonlight Boy, trained by C.Roche, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be Post Race Normal.

Pacemakers aside, overall they run a ten times better operation imo. How many good Godolphin 2 yr olds have we seen to carry over their form into their 3 yr  old season? Id say you could count them on one hand

Very unsatisfactory explanation for any backers of that horse saddlers, basically Crowe saying he wasnt strong enough to handle him

True enough, they had some beautiful looking animals win late maidens this year. If AOB had them, you be thinking Gallinule...Derrinstown...Derby. With Godolphin, you're wondering if they will be seen again. Personally think they over egged the pie years ago, housing poor animals, and just becoming a run of the mill outfit. No more was it just the select few chosen, and nurtured along the correct path to glory.

FFS SNAP , SAMSON wouldn't have been able to straighten that fellow , horse nearly jumped into fishermans lane with him...No blame attached to Alan , and I'd be the first to say if there was....
