I have noted Harris myself Callit , sure to win one this year , Dufner has disappointed a little last year when i thought he would really come into his own , either he won to much the year before and took it easy after getting hitched i don't know , but sure to be rearing to go this year...A few young lads on the way up and some old codgers on the way down , so will be backing the youngsters this year overall...

Like Dufner as well at the price Workrider(25,s),just a 30 man field hoping he will make the top 4.
Martin Laird with a 2nd and 4th at the course thought would be a bit bigger than 28/1,none too consistent so left him out, Scott is in great form though those Aussie tournaments weren,t strong and thought his last few years tries on the course were only very average. Longish course should suit the big hitters and unless the wind blows little danger with wide fairways so likes of Dustin Johnson,Woodland,English and Kuchar should figure, can,t do them all and hope Dufner has spent the last few weeks practising with his putter. Good write up Callit, nice to have a good tournament this week and hopefully the golf threads by yourself and the other regulars will surpass last years very good ones. |

If I was Dufner, I would have been practising something with the wife, rather than bothering with a putter!! Cracker.

Havent even looked at the field yet,is it only a 30 runner field this week pa lapsy

It Is huddys and a good few dukies in it as well.

Here we go for another year, going for 3 big price selections e/w paying the 4 places,1st selection is Blinx 40/1,has shown abit of form at the end of last year,2nd selection is my old pal Read couldn't let him go at 80/1 in a selected field and 3rd is Merrick who can show some form in the early part of the season at 80/1,the way im looking at it hopefully the fav's wont be fully tuned up for the start of the year, also backed Read e/w 50/1 for 1st round leader, best of luck this week lads,

Couldnt decide between Martin Laird and Chris Kirk for a 3rd string to the bow this week, so decided it safer to add the two of them. Hate to leave one behind in the first week! Added a bit extra to Scott and English to make them biggest winners.
Bets this week, 4pts e.w Scott 6-1 1.2pts e.w English 22-1 0.8pt e.w Kirk 28-1 0.8pt e.w Laird 30-1 |

Really enjoyed the coverage last night and stayed up til nearly 3,WR Think there could be thunderstorms so thats why they brought it forward.
Can,t always believe the weather forecast but seems the wind will be around 25mph for the remainder of the tournie, kinda needed as well as it was a bit easy yesterday with too many birds, still going okay for most of us here as we all have someone up there. |
|

That first hole is amazing Pa , never in my life did I see so many players miss the green to the left ...Only one I saw who took it on was Simpson and he nearly lost his ball , he then played a magical recovery shot ...

Hopefully Zach eases up with a lap to go WR!! Contemplating putting few quid on Spieth. I would rate him as more likely winner than everyone around him, other than Zach. Dusty, Webb and Kuch just don't get it done often enough. Spieth has balls aplenty.

Striking a few 2 balls to add some interest to tonights viewing. A couple stand out as really good bets.
Jordan Spieth at 13-10 to beat Kuchar and Michael Thompson at 9-4 to beat Simpson being the best of them. Kuch and Webb are two players who seem to find Saturdays(I know its Sunday) hard to nail. On quite a few occasions last year, they messed up really good positions, with very poor 'Moving Days'. I am going to take them on where appropriate this year. And Spieth at 13-10 is more than appropriate against Kuch. Thompson is less convincing than Spieth, but he is quite steady, and also he is a lot bigger price. And Kuch is just as capable of Webb of throwing in a wobbler. Have also plumped for a double on Kirk at 8-13, and John Merrick at 4-7. Personally think they should pay out now on that!! Derek Ernst playing Merrick, is probably the worst player to ever win a full tour event. Anything around par from Merrick, and he will win this on the bridle. Kirk plays Woody Austin, another who has no pretensions to being anything other than a journeyman. Kirk has quite a few decent rounds around here. I would be surprised if he didn't bounce back from yesterdays effort. For devilment, also done a yankee, them 4 and Adam Scott to beat Dufner. Dufners round on Thursday was held together be a sequence of putts that he usually wouldn't be making a similar percentage of. Scott hasn't made a putt in two days, yet still lies level with him. 4-5 seems fair. First match off at 8.07pm. |

Invested on Spieth at 15-2 with Powers.

With Zach going backwards left a few of ye with a late night tonight.
Callit spot on with Dufner, knew he wasn,t a great putter but he was brutal except for the first 9 holes of the tournie, pity for him as he has such a lovely game other than that.Disappointed to see him gobbing so much last night. |
|
By:
Yeah, there was quite a few of them gobbing Pa, yet David Livingstone only talks of Tiger doing it. Pr*ck. I will always be Tigers number one fan, but Jordan Spieth is such a talent. Not only that, plenty of kids have talent, but his attitude and winning mentality are a joy to watch. Almost Tigeresque.
It may sound crazy when he has a player like Dusty who has won every year since coming on tour, Webb who has won plenty and a US Open, and Zach who is also a multi tournament and major winner, surrounding him, but to me Spieth is still the most likely winner, and the least likely to bottle it. He is mature beyond his years, and has absolutely no desire to be second in anything. I'm a lover of most sports, but its the winners in them that floats my boat. AP, Tiger, Federer, Nadal, Schumacher, Messi,........they don't compete to be second best, and Spieth can join them, because he has a one dimensional view of life. Win at all costs, and f*ck the begrudgers. I'm topping up!! |
|
By:
I put this on the wrong thread earlier!
Studying this week's events at the moment after taking this tournament off. I agree Spieth looks the most likely winner despite his inexperience. He has nerves of steel and his ranking of 4th in Final Round Scoring Average last year says plenty about him. Had a small nibble at Gary Woodland at 40/1 each way. A quick start and he could be right among the leaders and he can really attack the closing holes if he is in contention. Good luck to all who are involved. |
|
By:
Zach Johnson at 11/8 in his 2 ball tonight seems a bit of an overeaction to a bad round - must back at that price! Is 2 shots further back too which will prob decrease the pressure on him

**2 ball v Dustin Johnson

Layed K Streelman @ 2.68...

Yeah I would agree with that BJG. More chance of Dusty throwing in a wobbler than Zach. Had no bet in it though, as I want them both to **** up!! Done combo trebles and acca on Scott, Sned, Kirk and Moore. Heading out for few pints, game o poker, and keep eye on the golf. Good Luck all.
