Seems to be more popular in the Uk than Ireland.

I want to hate it, never thought I would find it funny, and I know I shouldn't, but I occasinally do enjoy it.

I like the fact that he is getting away with it. It gives us all hope of turning a buck. He seems a genuine enough fella and maybe a few of his old creditors got paid out of it.

Yes its more popluar if the uk. Probably because alot in ireland have seen him do this stuff ages ago. Again fair play but i just don't get it. The bbc like this kind of stuff.  Sure they are thinking about bringing back only fools and horses. Great show but the last years of it it had run its course.

This is EXACTLY a copy of the format  we in the North saw from James Young many many moons ago , in  1960's  : kitchen humour with trans gender implications . Not as earthy language though . Belfast vs Dublin .

Thing which worries me slightly though is the number of kids who see it and how it might skew their view on what is normal / acceptable . Where does parent responsibility come in ( maybe thats unfashionable , but as you sow  , so shall you reap ) ?

Can never figure out why any man wants to dress up as a woman ?  Or vice versa . Except for arts sake , whatever that means .

fair play wildman!judgemental as ever.fyi i think mrs brown is naff,forced humour and predictable.when the the mother in  law paid us a visit over the xmas,she insisted on watching it and laughed her head off.(no accounting for taste eh,?)anyway i left them to it and went and had a game with my son on his x box.i find that is much more entertaining but i dont suppose u approve of that type of carry on either.

Think its doing well over in the UK because of the general garbage that is called comedy that is foisted upon us...

If swear words etc were banned , few if any  of current so called "comedians" would survive .  Billy Connolly started the ball rolling as I recall , he was funny though and got away with it except to a small percentage of older people who still hate the mention of his name ( my mother included) .

Most of the real good comedy had its roots in the music hall scene  , but that action died many years ago , and was not replaced .  The comedians were still evolving as far as it went , but few cut the mustard these days . Mrs Brown etc would have died a death if competing with the likes of Morecambe and Wise or the Two Ronnies .  I also think from observation that the main "devotees" of Mrs Brown are female , certainly never hear any of my mates mentioning it , but some of their wives watch it avidly .  Cant explain that , traditionally most females would have been turned off by industrial language .

what do you make of the modern day music, Kelly?  Rubbish isn't it?  we haven't had a proper singer, since, em, Joseph Locke?
