I think your way off..wylie wont give it a 2nd thought..he knows mullins is the best there is..you carnt win all the time(even tho it seems like he does) racing with horses can make even there trainers look fools sometimes |

Maybe I am, but these people want to win all the time and Willie got it badly wrong today.

I'd say Willie would have a good chuckle at the notion of giving Emmett a Chritmas present (absurd) but there is obvious merit in the challenge he faces of balancing owners interests. I think Graham Wylie is one of the last owners WPM would want to annoy (though he must be easy going enough to have put up with Howard Johnson).
Where it well get really interesting is the novice chases and novice hurdles at the festival. It's understandable to an extent that stablemates avoiding each other throughout the year(unnecessary hard races etc)but when in different ownership, they should be running in the most suitable races at the festival even if they clash.Ruby is in his element with connections in these situations. Felix Yonger is certainly an Arkle type more than a Jewson horse and although I thought Champagne Fever's race was in the balance today before the mistake-he's a different preposition at the festival but it's odds on they both wont run in the Arkle.CF looks a Jeswon horse but with give in the ground as there always is in the Tuesday now, who knows?? If I was Graham Wylie -I'd be running in the Arkle regardless. |
