Hard to find value on tomorrow's Leopardstown card but I think there could be some in the second race.

It's a really competitive maiden hurdle with Daneking, Beach Of Falesa, Stuccodor, Chancol, Wrathe Of Titans and The Winkler all holding sound prospects.

On current Betfair prices Chancol is definitely the value bet at 9/1. He was 6th in a hot sales bumper in the spring, and got off the mark at Navan recently beating Lord Scoundrel. He travelled well there and won with something up his sleeve in my view. That was on good ground, and Noel Meade said he'll improve on soft ground so I'd be hoping for an even better performance tomorrow.

By my reckoning he has as good a chance as most of these so I'll be surprised if he starts at 9/1.

Elsewhere, I want to see what prices Noble Inn and Defy Logic are put in at without the favs in their races, while I'm looking forward to seeing Clondaw Court back on a race course.

Merry Christmas all Grin

No problem Tony.

Chancol is actually little bigger than 6/1 on Betfair now, was 9/1 earlier.

the quality is excellent, the races not so easy to find soft pickings for punters on boxing day.

one race catches my eye

limerick 1.35

i out a tissue on this race of

carriganog 5/4
smashing 13/8
dalasiri  4/1

ppowers priced this since tuesday
smashing 8/11
carriganog 3/1
dalsiri 5/1

i cannot for the life of me understand the differential.

smashing won easily on the eye last time at fairyhouse in a modest rated race. he was fully exposed in france and viewing his french races he carried his head high under pressure and would not battle....for him to be an 8/11 shot he would have to have a rating of 145+...not in a million years will he hit that mark....i have him running to 130 the last day.

carriganog, is a progressive first season novice, an honest 3rd in a grade 2 last time, entitled to his 136 mark, more like a 136+ rating.

dalasiri is a potential player on his runs last season, well capable of running to 133-140 on a given day.

i am missing something or has the odds compiler completely misread the script pre race?

merry christmas to one and all.

Good man KL. Nearly a full year since Pride of the Castle. :)

Thought they'd be closer in the betting alright KL. The Cookie Jar gave Carriganog's form a nice boost with victory last weekend. She was beaten 16 lengths in receipt of plenty of weight and is now rated 116.

Your reading of the market was spot on KL.....think Carrig traded around 1.9...hopefully tonights weather wont mess us tomorrows racing
