and he wins and jumped like a tank.
What a absolute beast a beautiful looker looks like a bigger Bright New Dawn. |
By:
Bigger, but softer, I would say Ruby. Looks good against inferior opposition, but not much there when push comes to shove.
By:
yes did it well..Moscow mannion was disappointing..i done my doe..

I would not doubt that assessment Callitasucit but is that because he has still not learned to settle over a bare 2 miles.
That is something, because Meade has tainmed the wildest horses ever seen to settle over a bare 2 miles. He has excelled with this type of horse over hurdles. If you watch back the race Ned Buntline actually was nearly unrideable at stages, head up in the air, wandering all over the place. Carberry needed to every inch of talent their. If they can get him to settle he will have more energy towards the end of his races and hence look less soft. There is undoubted star potential in there, just need to harness it. Carberry and Meade are the best in the business IMO with a horse like this. |
By:
His jumping was also violent..he fired himself low and with some velocity and his fences. A real sign of a natural jumper IMO.
By:
ruby was you not disappointed with him lto ?the way he dropped out quickly?..i knew he was the one to beat today..but at the prices I went for Moscow chancing fitness..but jesus he was poor..
By:
Not sure on Moscow, I have no opinion on the horse. Never followed him closely. I just never forget that day Ned won at Naas....it was the truest steering job i have ever seen. The cash that came that day was huge aswell even money into 1/3
By:
did you back him lto?
By:
carberry and meade may be best with these types but remember ap could ride this lad in future. may not be a plus.
By:
I was hoping he would be more impressive in the end.
Less chance of him going off a silly price next time and he will be found badly wanting when he races in top company. |
By:
Yeah McCoy will be a worry but he won't be riding him i would not imagine in his next start. Remember he is still only 5, so there is no rush with him. His next start will tell me a lot.
By:
Goes to Naas in January says Meade and that is a right decision.
Stiff fences, stiff finish....hopefully decent ground. Interesting |
By:
Wudnt say he is a natural jumper ruby
By:
will he run at cheltenham??
By:
I reckon he's a big soft chap as well. Combined with Meade's awful record at Cheltenham, you'd need to be mad to back him for the festival. Talented horse though, I'm sure he'll win his share of smaller races.
By:
Ned Buntline would not be mapped at any decent level. Yesterday he won a race that his two main rivals flopped and even at that he struggled to beat Irish Thisle. I not sure he really stays 2 miles either.Thought Paul Carberry was good on him.
By:
As he grows into his frame he might strengthen up a bit and get 2 miles a bit better? Horse with a lot of natural ability but a few chinks.
By:
Nice take on the horse Ruby. I think these Meade horses are often generalised just because they are trained by him and ridden by Paul Carberry. If he goes to Cheltenham, might be more of a Jewson horse rather than the Arkle. You'd probably prefer Carberry to keep the ride on him but if he does run in the UK, likely to be AP.

By:
interesting thread this......for what its worth this is the wallnuts take on this horse.....no way a soft horse can win a bumper at naas.....a hurdle at leopardstown and a chase at navan......the race for him is the grand annual.....and there must be a chance that carberry will ride it.....as the green and gold is bound to have a few representatives.....
they have won the race the last 2 years with good novices.....carberry even rode one of them.....so they like the race and target it.....guaranteed a suicidal pace.....and guaranteed to be thrown in......if it puts in a blemish free round.....it wins without coming off the bridle..... and how do people think it doesn't stay 2m......that is really mystifying.....any horse that would win a bumper in naas would stay 3m more than likely.....they definitely stay 2 anyway..... Happy Xmas to ye all...... |
By:
The Grand Annual would be the ideal target alright, Bellvano was a similar enough type two years ago. An absolutely magical ride. Though I think it would take one of similar proportions to get this lad to land in front on the line there. If he wins another couple of soft novices though Paulie, he will have attracted the handicappers eye more than Bellvano or the non trier Alderwood did.
By:
I be surprised if he runs at Chelts.....I think they keep him at home.
Noel Meade did say however that it was JP who wanted him to start his career asap over fences after last year. I found that interesting. |
By:
Rubyisgodinthesaddle......he's a certainty to run in Cheltenham......keep him at home for what.....Cheltenham is the be all and end all for the green and gold......and you think they are going to leave a potential winner at home....
Callitascuit......if ned buntline isn't up to grade 1 action.....then ya can be sure that he wont be winning between now and March..... |
By:
I wonder though do they need to send him this year as he is only 5.
I guess we will see |
By:
Very good thread lads and it is very hard to pick a hole in Paulie's argument. He'd remind you a lot of Belvano alright Call and I remember reading that they were absolutely heart-broken with what happened to him, sure why wouldn't they be, if horses like these two wouldn't grab your affection....you might as well get a 9-5. Henderson said something to the effect that he used to work the place down every time.
By:
Chancol for the same connections has a similar profile to Ned Buntline....in terms that they look alike and are the same stamp of a horse. Travel really well.
Be interesting to see how he gets on in the 12.50 |
By:
We shall see what he's made of tomorrow
By:
He will need the Fav to fall to beat him that is for sure, and may even struggle to hold on for 2nd.
By:
Not a fan of the horse at all, always leaves me with the impression that it really doesnt find that much at the end of its races, we will see, GL
By:
did ye take the dog for a walk
By:
Come on Ned

By:
Bubble burst??
Looks likely...again pulled to hard. Looks like he never settle. |
By:
Looked very ordinary today
By:
Giving 6lbs to winner tbf .
By:
He did Kriskin.
He looks like a horse that needs a asterisk beside him. One paced |
By:
Then again when Carberry is riding it can be difficult to see what is what.
By:
Now that he has been beaten today, Paulies assertion that he will go for the Grand Annual is a huge runner. He may or may not come up the hill, but he will never be in a race that will be more run to suit him.
By:
wish could watch horse on the track and know if its going to be any good, have you planned out its targets and can you tell me what
OR rating the horse will be in the future and how much stud value might be ![]() |
By:
If that is the best he can do he would need a taxi to get up the hill at Cheltenham. Mind you I did say IF.
By:
Would you think Ned Buntline might make a good stallion RR?
