Think this lad is worth risking today at about the 14-1 mark. A horse of huge promise a couple of years back, he seemed to be only marking time over hurdles, before in my opinion going on to be a chasing superstar. Unfortunately, injury intervened, but the handicapper has relented, and he now finds himself 11lb lower than when I thought he was a certainty in the Coral. He didn't set the world alight on his comeback, but he was entitled to more than need it, and I just get the feeling his very sporting owners wouldn't be flogging one of their potentially greatest talents just for the sake of having another horse in training. It may be asking too much for him to fulfil my ambitions for him as Gold Cup winner, but its far from far fetched to envisage him being capable of defying 134 against this lot. The trip I suppose may be a slight doubt, but all in all at 14-1 I think its worth paying to find out.
Agree with what dj said in another thread, re At fishers Cross. He looks a cracking bet imo. I commented to a few people after his reappearance, that I couldn't see him being competitive in a World Hurdle on good ground, because he simply doesn't jump well enough, and that is exaggerated on decent ground. Today is totally different, and that inadequacy is not near as much as a hindrance on soft. Its been mentioned that Reve de Sivola will improve for the softer conditions too, but AFC had him beat the last day, and I would be surprised if he doesn't improve more for the run and the conditions than RDS. Personally I think he is a much better bet now at 1.76, than he was at 2.04 with Celestial in the field.
Cheers Callit, good to see you have been in form.I must stop getting involved in the waste of time threads-just can't understand how people can't accept when they're wrong-anyway enough of that crap.
Aegean Dawn was some horse a few years ago, went off at 5/1 for that Coral hurdle-hadn't run for four months before with Henderson protecting his mark of 145,he has form on soft ground.Who knows if he still has a proportion of the ability but you're getting a fair price in a tricky race. I remember you commenting on at fishers cross reference to the ground-confident as you can be today(did jump well at Aintree on goodish ground but probably wasn't beating much). The ladbroke should be an interesting race but not really a punting race for me.Is Geraghty on the right one or would he be sort of nearly obliged to ride for Buckley.Money for Mullins horse.

I cant for the life of me believe that BG picked Rolling Ball. Chatterbox should certainly be fav, and clear fav imo. Backed at 12s during week, and again at 10s today. Had a few quid on Recession Proof at 33s ante post. Saver on Totalize at 11s today.

I have dutched Pipes one and Chatterbox for small stakes.Chatterbox has top class form on soft ground including beating MTOY (wouldn't be reading that form literally obviously). I am surprised BJG isn't on tho(anyone read his column?)-would his loyalty to Buckley extend that far even with the amount of prize money available? Not sure of that and he was right in the hennessy but even though Roling star was impressive on seasonal debut-I didn't think he beat much.

Didn't quite get home, but rewarded e.w support. Travelled like a dream, the engine seems to be still in there. He surely has a 2m4/6f handicap in him off that mark anyway. Trip today on that ground was probably a shade too testing.
