Very sad indeed.......... I`m not sure what I had done when the chemist said no......... maybe they will change the rules after the dead...... that`s what usually happens.........

It's the compensation culture which prevented the chemist from giving the anapen to the child's mother.

Geez that's awful for everyone involved.  She should have had the epipen with her.

Perhaps there is some scope for people with such an allergy to also carry a card that would allow Pharmacy to dispense the product without a prescription in an emergency.

You are right Ozy, a card should be given to family members in the event of such an occurrence. People with that sort of allergy have to be meticulous when it comes to eating food. It was so preventable.
