Hello folks quiet week on the racing front in Ireland , just spotted an ex david wachman one running in a seller tomorrow evening at Kempton ( i know seller i sure do pick them LaughLaugh)
Well worth taking a look at its first run for new connections on the ATR replay at Lingfield the last day , slow away , slightly checked on the bend turning in and got going up the inner late ( not sure how "busy " it was ) ...
Up an extra furlong to 7 tomorrow might be able to turn the tables on the one that beat it  should go close if it is "off" .......Only ran 4 times for Wachman ,some not too bad ...
At something around 3/1 i d say might recoup some of me alpha and omega losses Silly

Anyway worth looking at its run the last day and form your opinion .. Good luck if you follow

Very strong class 2 races at Kempton and Newbury (very good race for 12k) tomorrow, good to see. Poungach and Hawkeyethenoo appeal at first glance but will have to delve a bit deeper.

Never been sure if poungach is better goping left or right handed, but his reappearance was encouraging enough and Nicholls has always spoken very highly of him and it seemed to me like there might have been something physical with him last year. Not sure if the trainer has reached for the tube or not but I wouldn't fear any Lavelle horse, Hadrians Approach maybe one to be peaked for the spring festivals and Super Duty appears to have lost the plot a bit.

I'd find it interesting that Hawkeye has been kept on for this (it is 28k mind), it is a very good sprint for the time of year with an up and coming Evans horse and good pattern performers like Hoof It (who has wained a good bit) in there.

It means Hawkeye is getting a bit of weight and having had a sighter at the track when a reasonable fifth recently, I just get the sense that he is still probably the best racehorse out of these..

Good to see fields of this standard on midweek cards in the UK backing up what was an entertaining horserace in the Peterborough last Sunday. Gives a bit of interest to Saturday type punters midweek with horses most who follow racing will be aware of.

Sorry for going completely off the topic of your thread Mick btw.

stop Neil at least you re talking about some decent racing unlike me going on about a seller at Kempton in December Laugh

Great Post , Barry Geraghty could have a very good day seems to have 5 decent chances Excited

On another side note have you been reading Paul Nicholls betfair column regarding weekend runners recently ? very informative the last few weekends in fairness to him . I follow Tony Calvin from betfair on twitter and he ususally puts it up on a friday with donald mccain

that last run had all the hallmarks of a non jig run mick...just after looking it it there..sellers are notorious but if its 5/2 3/1 its a must bet for sure..the danger is what you said..

Used to very regularly but been caught with other stuff including sleeping the last few Saturday mornings. I must get back into them as they frame the races for you if nothing else.

You could be on to something with Nicholls as he seems a man who wants to have the public on his side and wants people to 'know he knows what he has got.'

He was prone to making some very bullish statements in his RP column days and it could be said that the market maybe overreacted to them(he was winning everything at the time in fairness.)

The hype seems to be with Henderson these times and maybe Paul's horses are being handicapped a little more realistically than they were before when all they seemed to have to do was breathe to reach 140. I notice he is holding onto 125 odd rated horses a lot longer than he used to before as well, less revolving door at Ditcheat equine wise and maybe it is making him a better trainer in assessing what he has.

Tony 57 has pointed out that they are still spending big money there, and relatively they probably are, but it isn't on the scale of what is going on at Mullins' and Henderson's.

Someone mentioned, I'm nearly sure it was Distant View, that Mullins scarcely ever buys stores any more, that they would want to take his eye out, just high class pointers and good flat horses with scope who haven't been overraced. It's a frightening thought, even for Henderson. Felix younger looks as good a Novice chase rospect as I have seen in a long time, he might not be in Mullins' top 3.....

This was the good sprint that was abandoned because of the fog the other day neil.

I backed Hawkeye that day and will have a few quid on him tomorrow as well, can't see why he should be over double the odds of Lancelot when there is virtually nothing between them from there run at Lingfield on the 16th Nov, Hawkeye also has a pound pull in the weights, both came from the back of the field with Lancelot starting his run just before Hawkeye.

I think Hawkeye is an absolutely cracking ew bet tomorrow.

Good case you've made there for the ex-Wachman horse Mick, he must have been doing some fair work to run in some of the maidens that he did and obviously translated that to the racecourse well enough in the context of this. I'd be very interested. If he runs the kind of race he ran behind Fountain of Youth (who looked a prospect to me at the time) the he will kill these I'd say.

Funny how some thing that might be an 80's-90's horse wouldn't mean much to Wachman, but someone like Osboorne would take yer hand off for one.

I would agree Silver and thanks for the providence of the race, I was wondering had it fallen out of the Sky or had they gone real real serious about the "AW Championship".

Peterborough was on Thursday, moving to Sunday next year*, bad move I'd have said, pictures from the race were in all the sports pages on the Friday (probably because it was Nesbitt's horse than), they definitely won't get that next year.

yeah spot on neil ..... i know i m  stating the obvious but his fire power is just incredible ...Had a glance there at the entries for Thurles on Sunday normally a meeting where he might not have too many stars as they are waiting for Leop later in the week but he has another sackfull of decent ones entered including that Un de Seaux making his seasonal debut after looking like an aeroplane at Punchestown in April ...

Actually in 3 races where he will probably have the favourite it looks like Aidan O Brien might have the second favourite Crazyif they declare ...

Great trainer for sure with a great business working wonders with modest enough facilities. If he can land a couple of Gold Cus, I wonder is he young enough (and he has the kid as well) that he might give the Flat a go. If he was in England, I'm nearly sure he would, but you have the competitiveness of Irish Flat Racing and the fact that Ricci and MOL are strictly NH only.

It might be a poor crop of Irish NH trainers at the moment, that does not take away from Mullins, but the profession is being outperformed by its Flat counterpart Cheltenham winners or not. What is going on Sunday after Sunday isn't good enough and they hasve all had the opportunity to tender for those owners that Mullins has, and some of them have them and still can't compete.

A bit slowly away. Jockey then asleep by accident or design. Winner had well flown when he came after him. May not have beaten winner anyway but never given a chance to do so.

The race was over after 1F.  Winner slowed it up to a crawl and nothing behind had a chance.  The race didnt work out for her.  Winner didnt improve from last day.  It was the way the race was run.  In a fast run race i would back her to beat the winner every time.

See the ex Jessie H,s Citizenship won a mickey mouse class 3 at Exeter earlier at 12/1, followed him in Ireland a lot as always thought he had a fair bit of potential, didn,t back him as didn,t look at the racing till now but one that could have easily been done.

I see this fella is back in action this evening at Wolverhampton 5.50 . I think the stiffer  track might suit him better and should go close at 7/2

See Alpha and Omega down for Dundalk tomorrow evening as well Dingle in a slightly tougher looking race than his last,gl with the above one.

Aint No Surprise running in a 6F Mdn at Wolv at 5.50pm today. The fav Captain Myles looks the one to beat however. He ran two similar races last August staying on strongly in both. Just beaten on the nod at Carlisle by a winner who has rated much higher since. Captain Myles has changed hands and is now with Tim Pitt and owned by his new business partner. Pitt has also moved stables and is in new premises owned by Captain Myles owner. This is Pitts first runner for a while and I would think they are looking for a confidence boosting win. Cash Is King has a big weight for age allowance to give away. The other two arent good enough. Captain Myles could be very heavily backed if hes ready.

This thing looks dead on the machine out to 7 !!

Aint No Surprise showed some ability, Captain Myles won easily
