blood alcohol level please, Greaser?

ozy nothing to do with blood alcohol, Paulie thinks jockeys make a difference when in fact they make very little difference at all.

Ruby left Paul Nichols stable and Darryl Jacob is good enough because the horses are good enough.

Racing loves human heroes, but the only real hero is the ability of the horse, if the horse goes slow so does the jokey.

sil no matter how good the horse the tactical awareness of the jockey or mannequin on board can sometimes be the difference between winning and losing off a race....just look at the career of the fugue as a classic example, surely she just isnt that unlucky......

tactical awareness when you're on the best horse anyway, hard to be tactically aware when you're tailed off on a total no hoper and a very average horseman like Patrick Mullins, finishes 4th in the irish jockeys title?

Joseph O'Brien beat Mick Kinanes record, was it because he was better than Mick Kinane?, or since nepotism took over even Seamie and Colm are crying for rides as the nepotistic father dictates.

sil how many times ye seen the best horse in the race beaten?
By:
silvergreaser
When: 14 Dec 13 20:21
very seldom richters, the best horse will win nearly every time, why do you think so many lady jockeys have made it?

Ruby only wins because the horse was good enough, as sports stars goes he''s totally reliant on the ability of the horse so he's not really a sport star when he rides all the good horses while other jockeys with just as much ability as he has have to pick up the scraps.

Ruby would have won on Wonderful Charm.

Jacob should never have stayed on the outside of Oscar Whiskey and should have tried to quicken up his inner between the final two fences.

There will be many examples as the year goes on.

Greaser,

If someone tells you the sky is blue, you can't turn around and say no, it's white, and point at a star.

Willie Mullins horse today Glens Melody got absolutely put in its place, Hurricane Fly will meet more than his match this year, about time this overrated horse met his match

Silver,Hold on,You blame jockeys when they give a horse a bad ride but not when they give them a good ride?
if it's all about the horse and nothing to do with the jockey then surely kauto star can only be blamed himself for that bad round of jumping Crazy

i have to agree with silver re ruby. jacob has proved well up to the task as the horses have the ability.
Also paul townend was well able to ride and win on the mullins hotpots when ruby wasnt around.

"The Horse wins", not the overrated trainer or jockey, if the horse is slow well then the horse is slow!!!!

what if the horse is fast and the mannequin steering it steers it into trouble or up the slowest part of the track.ie leaves the rail on the lingfield turf track or like george baker on inviligator in the last at dunstall park tonight.....

of course they do sil but thats not the point, look at mccoys ride on more of that in the last,he waited and waited before pushing the button on a young lightly raced horse, had this been one of the weaker jocks they woulda started pushin before the last fence and the horse woulda tied up or idled in the run in,look at jacobs ride on southfield theathre,do you honestly think booby would of unplaced on that...

I never seen a better jockey in my life than Pat Eddery in the drive position richters, nine times out of ten Pat would drag that horse over the line, but those nine times out of ten were few and far between, if you get my drift richters?
By:
Ozymandius
When: 14 Dec 13 23:10
so you are saying, Greaser, is that sometimes Eddery made the difference, even if it only occasionally?

shirley that disproves your entire hypothesis?
By:

When: 14 Dec 13 23:17
exactly ozy, but I cant bet on the chance that Pat Eddery doesnt get into full flow.

I, S.Greaser accept that Jockeys can and do make the difference on occasion.

" nine times out of ten Pat Eddery would drag that horse over the line "

Some exaggeration in that statement but its stating in the clearest terms that the jockey makes a huge difference..

The jockey is absolutely vital for me,one of the most important with regards my betting.

Bad jockeys dont get rides  for very long . Most owners and trainers know the worth of their animals and of the jockeys they put up  , and react according to their judgement .

Anyone who thinks Jacobs is as good as Ruby aint seen what I have .  Not so far anyway , dont know their relative ages .

The salient factor in the Nicholls / Ruby situation for me is the number of winners Willie Mullins and Ruby have had recently . On a pure percentage of winnings I guess Ruby is not not missing his "redeyes" to England . Dont blame him , airports  and all that goes with them suck. Wears you out . Cattle trade nowadays .

Silvergreaser......I have made a conscious decision to block anybody who I don't think will ever post anything worth reading......anybody who's opinion is total rubbish.....and anybody who makes little or no sense....on a continual basis......and you are right.....I don't need any more evidence......and that is to add you to my list of blocked people......because anybody who doesn't think the jockey or the trainer doesn't matter.......and that ruby isn't better than Jacob......well I don't have to say anymore......I know you may well be half langerrs evertime you post.....but that's no excuse.....I wouldn't listen to a drunk in a pub.....not to mind listen to one here.....
You are in good company though......tony 57......wonky.....and an idiot on the horse racing forum im amazed.....are in my select band....

The best example I can give you is the 1972 Epsom Derby,Roberto with Lester Piggott against Rheingold and the hapless Ernie Johnson.

I am sure you will be able to locate a link.

Maguire had very little to do with Cool Ground winning, this can be more readily explained by the fact I was phuckin' bawdeep in The Fellow Sad

So Paulie only your opinion counts and nobody else need have one to the contrary?.

You basically said that Nichols is a useless trainer and once Ruby left and Jacob became first choice jockey Ditcheat was going to collapse in on itself.

Both Nichols and Jacob are having a fine season thank you with the promise of more to come
