Not a big football bettor but thought Man utd at 11/10 are a great price, realise they are going through to the next stage and Shaktar have to win to go through but from what i,ve seen of them(Shaktar) they are a very very average team,Utd not playing that well recently to be fair but still have to back them at the price.

From what I have seen of them Shaktar can cause a lot of problems.  Far from average.

BTTS 1.75 on here.

Report Ozymandius December 10, 2013 9:41 PM GMT
Thought they destroyed us in the first half, Pa.  Second half, United were stronger.

Well done lads,

Young missed a sitter and another very good chance, half chances missed by shankar, all in all Man U deserved the win.
Report Ozymandius December 10, 2013 9:46 PM GMT
yeah, Utd had the 2 clearest chances in first half, but at times they gave us a footballing lesson, it was a bit embarrassing.
Report pa lapsy December 10, 2013 9:49 PM GMT
Couldn,t string a few passes together and stupidly gave the ball away,no top flight team does that,as said above was surprised at how poor they were
Report Dan Chipowski December 10, 2013 9:51 PM GMT
Rooney dropping deep in the second half was crucial. Giggs, for all that he was a mighty player in his day, is past it and it showed tonight, the same with Ferdinand who was appalling. Thought the youngster Buttner was absolutely shocking too.

Man City were criminally mismanaged!! The last time the United midfield controlled a game was when they tore apart Panathaniokas in 01' with a near prime Keane and Scholes in the middle!!

They won a Champions League based on a lethally efficient counter-attacking style and a brilliant defense. They were effectively a 6 man team with Vidic,Ferdinand Evra, Tevez,Rooney and Ronaldo dictating outcomes.

The midfield has been redundant for over a decade. I think it is a big part of the reason why the Barca midfielders hold Scholes in such high regard, they wonder "how did that guy play to such a high level while being partnered by rubbish in midfield?" A fit Hargreaves asideLaugh
Report Ozymandius December 10, 2013 11:55 PM GMT
Do u mean Utd in opening line of that post?
Report Ozymandius December 10, 2013 11:58 PM GMT
Utd have won 3 out of the last 4 Premierships. the forth they tied, and lost on goal difference.

If that is criminal mis-management what are the rest at?

Midfield has been weak for a long time, agreed.  But needs to be seen in perspective.

Oh jeez no Oz i meant city were mismanage and that is a lot to do with why united took the league last year.

Ferguson did an astonishing job and I'm pretty sure he was well aware of the team's failings. Moyes would have been in for Fabregas in the summer and was always linked with the likes of Javi Martinez et cetera, If he'd have had his way he'd have gotten.

Outwardly, Ferguson was always very one-eyed, but he publicly admitted in his book that the arsenal team of 01-04 was more talented than his own United team of his time and he adapted to a more physical and aggressive style of play to combat them due to this.

I also noted that his United teams got bigger and more athletic in the post Invincibles/Mourinho 1 era.

Ferguson was always aware of what was going on and would have signed Xavi and Iniesta in 09' if that was possible!!

Ferguson would have been in* apologies, keboard is giving me nightmares this evening
