Backed The Game Changer each way in the first. Needs to be held up as he doesn't do a tap in front, but hit the front too early last time before making a hames of the last. He didn't find much when headed and I reckon Russell will be at pains to deliver him late; think he can reverse the form with Ange Belafre.

Haven't backed anything else as of yet but will be interested to see what price Rathvinden is in the first at Limerick, and Black Hercules in the last at Punchestown. Bright New Dawn is a horse I really like but I'd want 5/2 before getting involved in what looks a decent beginners' chase.
Report The Gotchee December 7, 2013 10:04 PM GMT
O MAONLAI was beaten 5 1/2 lengths by The Tullow Tank who went on to win a Grade 1 next time out. Considering it was his first run over hurdles, O Maonlai is sure to improve from that run. There isn't any better form in the race. Rathvinden and Rich Coast are potential dangers but they have not jumped a hurdle in public. They will have to be very good to beat O Maonlai.

TULSA JACK should be capable of a lot better having got a rough time of it in a very hot Land Rover bumper. He should be a lot closer tomorrow.
Report silvergreaser December 7, 2013 10:51 PM GMT
I agree with slabster as regards The Game Changer looks like one of those horses where if he doesn't win you have the failsafe of the place part of the bet as its hard to see him out of the frame and he also gets a 3lb pull Ange Balafre, similar sentiments can be applied to the Job is Right at Cork at around 5/1 looks like another ew bet to nothing, on a strict line of form with Apache Stronghold he has the beating of the fav Lots of Memories and runs like a horse where the extra few furlongs shouldn't be a problem.

The novice h/cap hurdle at Cork looks a dreadful affair, but in these poor races it can often be easier to find a winner, the two that standout are Milestone Miss and Pairc de Leasa, I'll keep an eye on the market any significant early support for either one will seal the bet.
Report Santry December 8, 2013 8:56 AM GMT
Two really good cards today .

Punchestown.
12.30 The Game Changer is overpriced at 6/1 and is a great bet at that. Clonard Lad needs further and little between Ange Belafre and The Game Changer. If Russell sits tight and gets a good leap at the last could win.
1.00 A really poor maiden and I think Apache Jack is the one. Rough Justice doesnt look up to much.
1.35 Sir De Champs too big to miss at 7/4.
3.35 If Sucker Punch is strong in the market I would go with it. Big bonus too that Nina Carberry put a long losing spell behind her yesterday.

Cork.
12.45 If O'Maonlai matches his run behind The Tullow Tank will take all the beating.
2.20 Days Hotel is a good price at 4/1. Won this race last year, ran a decent race against Flemenstar and the fav,Twinlight won a really poor race at Naas.
2.50 Even though the trip may be on the short side Dressedtothenines may have too much class for this opposition.

Good Luck all.
Report workrider December 8, 2013 11:04 AM GMT
I will be taking on the Game Changer with Gilgamboa in the first , thought this won well at Galway ,Rough  Justice who ran well at Thurles , the fact Mullins is in such good form makes it worth thinking there is improvement to come from this one .SDC will carry my money if they race on the main track today...According to Davy sure to need the run , amazing that , when you think of the facilities available to the man ..Good luck all...

ozy,
you never pick a horse or give a opinion on one..you only knock others for there opinions..most of this site is about horse racing..but you can never have a serious conversation about the game because you have nothing to say? do you not think that is a bit strange?.i can understand you having a laugh and taking the p.ss (that's fine)but theres no substance to your contribution?...I honestly believe you don't punt? theres no problem if that's the case..but why try to belittle people who do know the game?..
Report Ozymandius December 9, 2013 11:12 AM GMT
I don't belittle the likes of Keen Leader, dj876 etc....for me they are the ones who know the game.

I punt infrequently on horses as I have explained umpteen times on here, I don't have an edge.  It's not a straight game and as far as I am concerned you are at nothing without inside information.  If I lived in Ireland/UK, I would attend race meetings and know people, and the information would flow....but I don't.

You don't get any medals for putting up horses on here, any gobsH1te can pick one out of a paper and make a case for it.  I could do that to, but my selections wouldn't show a profit (much like yours Wink) so what would be the point?
Report tony57 December 9, 2013 11:43 AM GMT
you don't put up a selection co,s you don't have a opinion?..you don't know much about racing imo..I don't mind what you say ..but I just think its a touch sad that you try to belittle peoples opinions..who GO RACING!..as for a edge?..what edge?..all of us who punt have to do our own work (form)etc..we use are eyes and then back our judgement..thats what the games about..no one wants medals for putting their opinions up..but whats a racing forum for if not people talking and giving their opinions on racing issues?
Report Ozymandius December 9, 2013 11:53 AM GMT
