1.50  Chepstow-3M Maiden Hurdle
Kaki de la Pree -(4/5 on here)-He looks a 2/5 shot to me.

Formerly with Pat Doyle where he won on his only run at Dromohane in a 4yo old maiden.
He ran with credit beaten 14 lengths by Puffin Billy at Newbury but his ran behind Kings Palace at Fontwell was extremely eye catching.
He was beaten just a length with the third 15 length away obliging in a weak maiden since.Kings palace has since won a very decent novice hurdle at Cheltenham by 18 lengths.

Doing Fine is also a winning pointer and has some decent bumper form but he will have to be something special to overcome Kaki de la Pree imo.

backed Walkon @ 5/1 & 9/2 in the Old Roan Chase

Think it's best to catch him after a break, if you look at his runs after a long break he ran 2nd beaten 1/2L to Tiger O Toole in a  grade 2 hurdle giving him 19lbs after 660 days off, he then stuffed Zaynar in a novice chase after being off for 261 days and then last year ran 2nd to Al Ferof in the Paddy Power after being off 210 days.

There has been loads of rain in Liverpool this evening and the ground could end up soft or even worse but i am not too bothered either way as he has winning form on heavy as a juvenile hurdler and then ran 2nd to Unioniste in the old Tripleprint on awful ground last season.

He is probably high enough off 151 after being raised for coming 2nd in the Topham last year but i don't think it's a great race and with receiving 9lbs from Wishful Thinking and 4lbs from Edgardo Sol i think he will take a lot of beating, maybe Astracad who is pricewised and getting 10lbs off Walkon could be the bigger danger.

Smashing horse(only 8 now) Premier Fantasy and definitely best to catch him fresh. It feels like longer than 4 years since himself and Zaynar battled out the Triumph.

Another I think is a bit overpriced is Berkeley Baron(5.1)in the Persian War novice hurdle. This is going to take some getting with the ground likely to be heavy and this hold up performer will stay.He received an incompetent ride lto over c+d-held up way too far back and made mistakes at the last 2 flights(will need to jump slicker to land this).

Ceasar Milan will be favourite and has decent bumper form on heavy ground(including beating lots of memories at Down Royal)and Nicholls has won 4 of the last 6 renewals. The yard is in decent early form with 9 of the last 20 runners obliging.

Loved Walkon as a juvenile and thought he was CH class. It is a difficult line given what has come after but when you weigh everything up he will never get a better chance than this to land a relative big one and king(with things having somewhat fallen apart is aware of this) he is best fresh and now has a trainer who has to concern himself with prize-money. To me, he has been the best racehorse of these and under big weights with a degree of competition, the typical react
ion of horses like Wishfull Thinking is to cry enough, he is amongst like-minded individuals now and that could be enogh to let the quality of Walkon shine.........even if tis only the once..... Twould be nice to see it, him and Zayar were good juveniles and more.

There could be a bounce factor with Kaki de la Pree, that would be the only worry. A year between each of his three runs is a little suspicious and the fact that he was sold out of Hendersons for 13k  after just one run just doesn't sit right. There must be some underlying problem.

There.

WD dj. Never looked in doubt down the straight. His jumpimg improved when they started racing.
Think Thomas Hobson in 2.40 and Jamaican Bolt in 3.15 are two of the best bets of the day. Backed at 6s and 10s respectively. Heading to work so done a euro e.w lucky 63 for interest,
Thomas Hobson 2.40 Donc
Jamaican Bolt 3.15 Donc
Comino 4.25 Donc
Lilac Tree 5.30 Donc
Sire de Grugy 4.45 Chep
Tracks of my Tears 7.15 Wolv

Will watch Just a Par with interest in the novice chase at Chep. May transpire that he will come up slightly short of class for the Sun Alliance, but looks made for chasing, and should pick up plenty along the way.
Had a good cut on Shining Emerald in the 2.35 at Leop at evens. Everything looks in his favour. If AOB trained, he prob be 1-2.

2.40 Doncaster - Nicholascopernicus 11/2, very progressive horse last year, loves soft ground and bounced back to form last time in a decnet race at york on ground that would have bee fast enough

3.15 - Jamaican Bolt 8/1, this horse has been entered and withdrawn an uncountable amount of times during the summer in search of soft groun. I reckon they just ran out of patience and ran him last twice to get im out. finally gets his ground today and James Doyle an eyecatching booking. his 2nd to Jack Dexter last season reads very very well now and should have something in hand of this mark

ew singles and double

Report BJG October 26, 2013 2:58 PM BST
Nt a market ive ever used tbh so no idea of a basee price - Only 4 games so would assume 1/2-1/3 or dat way

Backed Somewhat and Chief Barker. Obviously the others have huge scope for improvement, but they will need that, and experience and battle hardness could count for a lot today.
