I put up plenty of losers alright but I managed a few winners too.
The connection between the three posters mentioned all were sneering and jeering at other posters, all were goaded into putting up a selection, all three finally came up with odds on shots and all managed to lose spectacularly. It is hilarious and worth pointing out, even Kingrat came up with the odd winner and they weren't odds on shots. |
By:
It's about strike rate. You put up so many horses it's inevitable that some win.
I hope you have filled your boots on Noel King, 10's into 5s. Nadal to win the US open, max bet. Rui Costa at 33/1 on United thread. Winner after winner on my much aligned Celebrity TV shows. My X factor summary pre-live shows, highighted what have quickly become the top 4 runners, for an effortlessly green book. Etc Etc etc. If you want to set up a head to head betting challenge against you, on any sport other than Horse racing(too reliant on inside info) and GAA (which I don't follow), I would comfortably defeat you. But then you know this ![]() |
By:
You miss the point again.
The three posters have in common their debut threads have resulted in spectacular odds on losers, they were goaded into making an effort because they were slagging others tips. Its the irony that I love. As for your challenge I don't trust you but would still be prepared to take you on,not with your confidence mind as my speciality would be horses. |

So you want to take me on? Fantastic
![]() We need a format. Suggestions? Time Period..now till Xmas? Certain number of selections per week? Any ideas? Is it easiest if we confine it to say the Premier league? 3 selections per week? |
By:
Heineken Cup next round of matches?
By:
That's an idea...don't we want to extend it over a few weeks...more craic that way? Also makes it less random
If Henineken Cup...why not 3 handicap selections per round? For each of the four remaining sets of matches. And Puhlease...no moaning about rugby being my supposed area of expertise...after all you have already savagely derided my skills in this sphere If you take this one, you take it on. |
By:
I'm only trying to be fair.
My suggestion would be give us a bank of 100 points and let us bet a maximum of 5 points per match using one bookmakers prices,Paddy Power, that eliminates any dispute over price,if either of us do in our tank then the other is declared the victor. You can pick it up from there. |
By:
did u not take the Spoofer on over his Cambridge wager??
He went very quiet on that since it was mentioned on his Man Utd thread. |
By:
Fine with using Powers prices only.
Think we should stick to Handicap bets only. And 3 selections per round. A selection per match is a bit much if you want to run it over the 4 remaining rounds. If you just want to run it over one round, then ok, a handicap pick on all games. All picks to be submited on mass at 6PM on the Friday using the caps available at that point in time. What's the prize fund? |

The mention of money is usually a signal for ye to run away.
I will let you nominate a stake but it has to be money up front, alternatively I have no problem in doing this the Corinthian way. |
By:
I don't mind either way.
I have no trouble trusting you to cough up after the fact. In fact it would be even more pleasing if you welched! How much do you have in mind? |
By:
You may not have a problem with me coughing up after the fact but I certainly have a problem with you.
Money up front or no money. |
By:
Ok, how and how much?
By:
David Power is a reputable bookmaker lodge the money with him,you can nominate the amount.
By:
I don't live in Ireland, so can't be handing dirty wads of cash to any individual. It has to be an electronic transfer.
I am happy to go with any amount you are comfortable with. |
By:
the alternative is that the loser pays a charity..on justgiving.ie .advantage is these contributions are annonymous but can be verified by all..i.e made in the name Ozy or Borneo.
Obviously this would only be done after the event. |
By:
This is a bit like Ronnie Drew meeting Patrick Kavanagh on Baggot street bridge, they had fallen out but in an attempt of reconciliation Drew invited Kavanagh for a drink, first pub mentioned was out Kavanagh barred, next one mentioned out Drew barred and on it went til they eventual parted saying good luck we did try.
I genuinely use cash for gambling as it puts manners on you,the electronic stuff you mention is beyond me. |
By:
I doubt Dels bank would be able to keep track of all his transactions tbh Wildmanfromborneo , Monopoly MONEY is hard to trace ....
By:
How do you lodge money on here other than electronically? Do you travel with it to Hammersmith in a backpack?
Is the charity idea a non-runner for you? You still haven't me how much you want to play for...I don't want to put undue pressure on an OAP, it wouldn't feel right ![]() |
By:
Del , hadn't you better check with Nutty before committing to anything , he'll be upset , you know he likes to be included ....
![]() |
By:
I pay by cheque which is why when I run dry I stop posting.
I may qualify for a pension but I don't draw one as I work which is why I have contempt for politicians that draw pensions whilst still working. Its your challenge you should be putting forward ideas. |
By:
Well unless any other forumite can come up with an idea for exchanging money annonymously, I am stumped...other than the charity idea, you still haven't indicated if that is good for you?
Do I take it you don't have a card of any kind that allows you to deposit money online? |
By:
That's correct.
Do I need a card for the charity ? |
By:
These challenges always perish on the rock that is financial exchange. If ye are serious cant ye leave money out of it? Just look on it as a bit of fun and hopefully we see a gracious victor whoever that may be..
By:
Yes, the charity needs a card.
Very hard to believe you function without any sort of card (what sort of neanderthal are you )We can do it without money but its not quite the same buzz! |

ozy 4-7
wildman 2-1 draw 10-1 the kid will take any bets.now come on chumps(u know who u are)get behind yre man! ![]() |
By:
kingkauto is right, put up your selections and come xmas whoever has amassed the most points is the winner, you can back your own selections if you so wish.
By:
kingratguess still hasnt paid workrider from the time the cowardly hooooor yellowed away at punchestown.?now hes running a book, give me strength.......he couldnt run out of his own road ffs......
By:
I wish " the kid " was a bookie because the one thing it won't be is a draw.
By:
bring it on chaps!

By:
I would be willing to accept you sending a cheque to a charity of my choice, should you lose, you would have a week to send it it, I would then contact the charity to verify it had been received.
On my side, I would make the donation online to your charity on justgiving, so it would be verifiable by all. |
By:
It's fairly clear to all that I am the only one trying to make this work #bottledityetagain
By:
Its not clear at all, this is your challenge I have agreed to all your demands, you have failed to nominate the amount.
After much tooing and froing we decided on the Corinthian route but you after agreeing come back with new demands about cheques when the point you used to worm out of your five grand challenge was you want to remain anonymous. I nominated the 100 point bank,I nominated the maximum bet of 5 points if this can be agreed I will go along with any reasonable suggestion. |
By:
wildman, don't be wasting your time with these chancers.
By:
We never decided on the Corinthian thing, I said I preferred if money was involved and actively continue to search for a solution.
The handicap selction on all games is a perfectly fair system, no point complicating it with 1 point here , three points there, not necessary at all. So you won't do the post the cheque thing to charity because you want to remain annonymous? |
