That Top Madam is one hell of a tough mare. She has hardly got a break in the last two years. I think the trainer could be a bit more selective with her programme. She ran 14 times in 2012 and is having her 8th run in 2013 tomorrow. She is the type of mare who could be top class if handled properly.

I agree The Gotchee , I'd be a little worried after her last run , she has to be as tough as old boots , will make a cracking broodmare .....

I wouldn't put you off her workrider, she won a good G3 at Down Royal around this time last year. The trip might have been too far for her last time out.

At first glance you would think 11 runs and beaten at odds on 13 days ago-No Thanks but I think he should be well odds on.
His seasonal debut which he was third in was extremely hot for this time of year and in a different league to this contest.
Kings Palace was second in a listed bumper last year(11 lengths clear).Kaki de Paree was having only his second racecourse start having finished 14 lengths behind Puffin Billy on his debut.

Billy no Name's defeats have been in much better races than this including in a decent handicap over course and distance and placed behind a couple of Nicholl's runners who have been successful since.

cailin annamh is a prolific winner, placed 2nd in a class 1 race on only 3rd start, whereas top madam raced in lots PTPS.
drift must of put some people off the winner. sounds like an irish name that winner.

He was odds on- even money with a 25c rule 4.
I don't normally put them up that short but I thought he had a ton in hand(still a quiet boy at the last). If you looked at the race lazily -U'd say had too many chances and shouldn't be so short but his runs were in the main in much better races and the opposition today were shocking.

12/16-only mentioned the selections when antagonised and wouldn't mention it now only I am correcting a mistake downwards.
Don't come on threads where I have a selection normally(even a shortie) just wanted to make the above corrections.

Very poor crowd there today , I went to parade ring to have a look at Top  Madam , in a 7 runners race she was only brought into the ring as the bell was sounding to mount , she went straight out before even completing a full round of the ring , not good enough and the trainer should be fined , unless he had a good reason for same , to make matters worse i went and backed her , not very clever i know ...She did the same as at Gowran dropped tamely away before the last ....Maybe the trip was a little short or maybe shes feeling the effects of some hard races , as on ratings she had no business been beaten so far ...One to watch now till she starts to show something ....Backed ART , a horse who looks as if he could have a good race later on in him , jumps soundly , and has a terrier like attitude ...Worth keeping the right side of this fellow ..First/L looked about 85% ready , sure to improve for the run , but ye all know that...

Nice little write up workrider. Its's nice to know what is going on at these meetings particularly around the parade ring. There was two Grade 3's and HRI could only get one sponsored. Hard to believe? They are doing nothing to improve attendances either. They had it handy during the Celtic Tiger but their incompetence is showing now.   I think Top Madam could do with a good break, she ran well below her form.
