Decent cards. There is a pricing error with Bet 365 for those fortunate enough to get on.
Brian Gleeson's Galileo filly in the listed race is the proverbial each way steel at 4/1 with 365.
She won a deplorable maiden even by Wexford standards but she has plenty of ability and is no 4/1 chance in this listed race.

Shocking race for a listed race, Though(horse) 2nd in that Wexford maiden has bits of form, the manner Hikari when challenged 2f quickened up was fairly eyecatching. On paper a huge jump in class, yet her opponents look despite ratings quite average handicappers. Good luck with her.

Certainly visibly impressive last time, as Pa says hardly up against superstars.

The booking of Murtagh for Martins Spacious Sky catches the eye in the Irish Cesarewitch, a typically campaigned Martin horse.

Shocking if that wins Silver, his hurdle runs are very poor. Did a small ew with pp on Giants Quest basically didn,t think he should have been 20,s when Weather Watch was 8/1,wide open.

But hardly surprising pa, and if it wins you'll be hearing the usual guffaw how Martin is a shrewd operator.

I can never understand why a punter would want to bet in a race like the Cesarewitch.
30 Runner handicap with a 100k prize money = Bookies Benefit in the long run.

Not meant to be a disparaging comment to any of ye on this thread just an impossible betting medium for me.
How are you supposed to asses the probability to a reasonably accurate level when the majority of the form is irrelevant due to the size of the pot?

Suppose after todays x channel one you might have a point. Hard at times to spot a plot horse alright, like them in the sense you can get a big price, the ew terms can be good,a lot of the field can be dismissed(thats used loosely)by conditions/form. Look at them as a puzzle to solve though generally bet a fair bit less on them then say a stakes race.

Fair enough Pa,I am of the mindset just to put a line through these type of races. The Major Bookmakers are always keen to put up big pots to entice more "handicapping".I can see your point tho and I guess if you study them, you can pin point trainers build ups etc etc etc.

I would say bookmakers have nightmares over the Irish Cesarewitch.
The favourites have an incredible strike rate and there have been huge gambles landed, think this race started Vincent OBrien with some judicious gambles in the forties.
Bigaroon won it three times in the seventies,Jack of Trumps Potato Merchant and Orient Rose landed big gambles in that same decade.
The Gillian OBrien trained Five Nations landed a touch in the earlier eighties didnt run until next years race and repeated the dose off a lower weight.
The last two favourites Minsk and Vouleuse De Coeurs  have gone in,Dani California and Essex were two other favourites that won.

The history is the easy bit the hard bit is getting this years winner,John Oxx has a good record in the race but as he has a lot of stayers in his yard he should he has Mourani this year but my idea of the winner  is the Wexford specialist Celestial Prospect.Ruby Walsh took him the long way around Navan in a handicap hurdle in Navan last time out and he still won in a canter,he is a well bred gelding by Galileo and although 7 is still improving.

Backed her at 4s earlier on Dj. Surpised it still available. Also took some 7-4 on Dazzling in the 2.25. I would be more than prepared to forgive her her defeat the last day. Form of maiden win is not working out as anticipated, but she really took my eye that day. Would expect her to go off no bigger than evens tomorrow.

I'd have to agree with both of ye , her tail swished a few times , but he knew he had joe beat 3 out , yet tried to go up his inside instead of kicking on and putting the race to bed...

Yes WD www....I was sickened with Hikari not getting third but probably deserved to lose when backing a filly with Wexford maiden form in a Curragh Listed race(no matter how poor).

I am sure PWC were delighted with their match race for 29k at Limerick.
Another big handicap pot for JP(how many "nationals" has he won over the last few years).

Seems only Pa Lapsy noted the success of World Wide Web place pot, well done World Wide Web hope you had it for a decent few quid.

There is a logical reason for JPs success in handicaps and its not solely due to the inferred reason.
An owner with lots of horses has a huge advantage in that he can make multiple entries and then pick the one well in,this is the sole reason John Oxx has a good record in the Cesarewitch.
By:
Arklearkle

Someone explain to me how WM can only win a handful of handicaps in a year and JP can win any number of the very big handicaps and sometimes have 4, 5 or 6 horses in contention at the last in some of these.

I never implied that I had information for Hikari and can say with fact that I didn't have any.
I have never posted or implied having inside information for any selection ever.

As for not going racing,I have been to every major track in both Ireland and England countless times not that it's relevant.

I am not bothered by either of yer opinions for reasons previously outlined but if ye want to check my last 15 selections on here,
11 were winners with just one odds on(1.93) selection.(short and biased sample and proves nothing).

There is no point in debating with either of ye tho-ye are characterised by smileys and all ye contribute is noise.
