7 Group 1's at Longchamp, should be a great days racing but very competitive.I was hoping to get near even money(dream land) on Gordon Lord Byron to place but is priced correctly at 1.55-so no bet.
Anyone think that Captain Cee Bee is overpriced @ 2.72??He skated up in this last year in probably a better field with Rebel Fitz,Thousand stars and Blackstairmountain. Negatives are he is now 12,no prep run and he has burst in the past(including when favourite in Arkle)but the opposition looks limited to me and it's conceivable that he will simply outclass these. I am hoping that connections have targeted this race because it's the easiest Grade 2 he will have all season. Weak enough in the market though and probably best to wait until the post time with a 12 yo making his seasonal debut and still be able to bail out if there is a spectacular drift.
I have got the ground wrong at Tipperary,is it Yielding for flat and good for NH?? I thought there was a fair bit of rain at the weekend,it was bottomless in the race last year and probably explains the drift. Those Ballydoyle 2yo's don't half improve from their debuts.

What does that tell you dj that they're often sent to the track woefully unfit and nobody sees anything wrong with it?.
Arc day has some of the best flat racing on the calender and the best flat race of all in the Arc and nobody seems too interested, you would get more replies if their was a midweek Clonmel meeting, suggests to me that the Irish Forum is mainly made up of national hunt enthusiasts?.
I started a thread titled the Arc looking to see what others fancied today and nobody bothered.

Apologies Greaser I missed the Arc thread and would have stuck this on there.
I knew u'd bite at the Ballydoyle 2yo.
I don't follow French racing much at all and couldn't give you an opinion on the Arc.

The ground reduced my bet, although he has plenty of form on good ground-just be a bit worried at 12 that he'd lost a yard of pace but form is temporary and class is permanent. It made sense to have him right today when he will spend the rest of the season chasing the fly,Our Conor and Jezki.

I think that Un beau Roman is way overpriced as an each way selection at 11.0. He's a bit of a bridle horse but the way he travelled against Curley Bill(going away at line tho)makes me think there is plenty of ability and 4lbs better off with perhaps a change of tactics could see him reverse it(and better ground).
I think he's bigger than he should be also because some might believe that Ruby had a choice.

woosh what a turn of foot, I'd say the main forum were sharpening the knives as Jarnet sat motionless as Murtagh went for home?, never a doubt.
So much for Grange gone at the 4th.

I did the Tipperary double out of some misguided loyalty so lots of money at stake but Moonlight Cloud still took my breath away,I can still hardly credit she actually won in a hack canter.

Another decent pot for Michael Winters, has won €500,000 in prize money between Rebel Fitz and Missunited-some achievement for a small yard.He comes across as a great character, continued success to him.

Thanks wildman,I thought it was a strange move. You seem to have a good line into all the characters involved in the Irish Racing scene. You certainly knows whats going on.
