Are these available anywhere

I am looking to take on Liverpool with a couple of teams, namely Spurs, Everton & (to a lesser extent) Swansea but no-one seems to offer this market

I don't understand why Liverpool are so short in a lot of the peripheral markets

eg - Paddy has a Group Betting market with the following teams/odds

4/11 - Liverpool
4/1 - Everton
12/1 - Newcastle
16/1 - Southampton
20/1 - Swansea

IMO the 4/11 about Liverpool is a shocking price for a team who have finished below Everton for the last 2 seasons. I would have expected those 2 to be close to joint-favourites in this market with Liverpool shading it purely down to supporter loyalty.

Everton are worth a punt at the 4/1 here, while the 20/1 about Swansea is also worth a little flutter.

Everton are 3/1 with Ladcrooks in a match-bet with Liverpool db.

Spurs 10/11 with B356.

Just go on oddschecker, football specials, season match bets.

Can't see anything for Swansea.

Obviously Liverpool are overbet every year, but I guess there is an amount of room for improvement factored in as well. With Baines and Fellani being sniffed about by Man U, it may be worth holding fire for a while on that.

Regardless of the Suarez mess, a big worry for Liverpool this season has to be defence. To me there is a lack of leadership there. Carragher and Reina gone, and Barca in for Agger apparently (not that he is a leader but lots of experience). I understand that the Sunderland fans had concerns around Mingolet being able to control his area. If that's the case, and the headless Enrique and Johnson remain in situ, then I see that as an area of major weakness. Oh and add in that Lucas is the only recognised DM, and he has yet to prove he can recapture his form of pre-injury.

Thanks kiddo - had the phrase "head-to-head" in my mind and didn't really look for an alternative

I like both those so cheers for that, especially the Spurs one

No bother, and agree Spurs appeal. Will wait to see how Bale saga plays out.

Swansea taking Europa League seriously may affect their league form.

Indeed a shocking price, they only have 3 players with any real class, Coutinho, Suarez and Gerrard. Southhampton will go very very well this year and the French players Newcastle have signed in the last year are very good. Both can be top 8 this year. Everton are posed to drop off now. Would love to see James McCarthy signed by Southhampton to play with Schneiderlinn and Wanyama.

The two Liverpool full-backs aren't bad either, Johnson and Enrique, in fact they are very good, but the central-midfield and centre-back areas could have huge problems this year. the former is a horror show.

i think ill back swansea to go down.they might struggle.
Report neill d August 9, 2013 6:31 PM BST
They won't Kav, they've a great coach. Very good wingers, decent in central midfield and at centre back and crucially two of the best forwards in the league in Michu and Bony. Bony has great physical power/pace and a real classy all round forwards game (good with back to goal).

Fine keeper too.

Crystal Palace and Hull look like certs to me, especially the former. I love Berbatov, Ruiz and Taarabt as players (but they are all of a type), that Fulham team really lacks athleticism and I can see them struggling this term.
Report neill d August 9, 2013 6:46 PM BST
None of the 3 mentioned have any pace and they all want to come towards the ball. No one there wants to get in behind, they'll have trouble turning teams. i'm surprised they have maintained Duff as he is finished as a PL level winger. Completely lost the pace to get down the outside of his man. Fulham need a pacy striker who plays on the shoulder and a ball winning, mobile midfielder. They'll be too easy to play against as it stands.

Who do you fancy to win it, boys?  3 horse race;

City:  Quitely going about their business.  Fernandinho and YaYa are two talented Midfield Monsters.  Navas adds pace out wide, Agueero is a huge talent, Negredo looks made for the Prem.  Silva not as big a threat last year as the year before, may return to form.  Dzeko appears underrated to me and always does a job.  Can they all settle in and gel together?

Chelsea: All about the Mourinho effect.  Solid defensively, Huge creativity and talent in attacking midfield area.  Can Lukaka be the man? He looks the part to me. Torres and Rooney are busted flushes.  How terrifying would Chelsea look with a top top striker?

United:  Topped the table in 6 of last 7 years (joint top with City one year :-)  despite looking inadequate in central midfield for much of this period.  Carrick and RVP key men and must stay fit.

VERDICT:  Tough call.  Maybe a year too early for this City squad.  United know how to win but new man at the helm  I think I would have to go for Chelsea.  Will conceed less than the other two sides and have Mr X factor in charge who has proven winning form in this competition.

best Irish player of his generation Kav.

One thing is for sure Oz, City and Chelsea have much better players. That Fernandinho is supposed to be an absolute best of an athlete, that should help City a lot as Barry and YaYa at the base were carrying a lot of timber. If Navas takes off, he would give them something really different in that he can cross a ball, is pacy and can get down the outside of defenders. I could see Dzeko getting a lot of goals this season if Navas clicks, Negredo too. Jovetic is plainly very good, will be interesting to see where he ends up playing, he isn't a winger for me and is kind of a 9 1/2, a bit like rooney.

Chelsea have brilliant players, but my worry for them would be whether pure fiitballers like Oscar, Mata and Hazard will buy into letting Mourinho run them into the ground. They are still short a top-class central midfielder for me, unless that Dutch kid they signed turns out to be very good. They are very good in defence and in David Luiz, Cole and Ivanovic, they have 3 of the best defenders in the world. If a defender is going to win footballer of the year, it will be David Luiz, he is one of the best pound-for-pound footballers I've ever seen. Lukaku should also go very well if he gets a chance this year, a lot of the rawness is gone out of his game and he has the attributes to be a world-class striker.

United are the same as last year, unless Zaha is a world-beater, that shouldn't be good enough now. When a plodder like Michael Carrick who can't get the ball out of his feet, who turns his back on a centre-back trying to give him the ball and who can't play in tight situations is your best midfielder, you're in trouble. Anderson is the most talented midfielder at the club, hopefully Moyes can cozx it out of him. Getting Nani back would also be like having a new player. Basically, they'll need those who are there and have under-achieved to step up. Any of Gundagen, McCarthy, Modric, Fellaini or Baines would be worthwhile, realistic signings and would be upgrades. They may have the best keeper in the world in De Gea on their hands, though.

I forgot about Jovetic!  City and Chelsea have had better players than United for several years now, Neill, difference is we had Fergie  Wink

I also think Luiz is a great player, the jury is till out on whether he is a great defender as yet.  Is he not at his best in defensive midfield?  Especially where, as you point out, Chelsea are a little short.

I have to take issue with you over Anderson!  He is the most one footed player I have ever seen.  Obvious stamina issues and has zero confidence/composure in front of goal.  I would be fairly certain he will not come good for us at this stage.

You're right on the last one, wishful thinking on my part. I remember watching him playing for Porto, I don't know what happened to him. He looks to me like a lad who would have really taken off if he'd gone to a Latin country when he left Porto. ferguson tried to turn him into a midfield dog when he had always been an attacker. He still shows some brilliant sparks of invention.

I was seriously impressed by Luiz in the Confederations Cup, he showed brilliant leadership and the concentration that one wouldn't always readily associate with him. He has it all and whether he succeeds or not is completely up to him. I think he is a centre back as he has great strength, turn of pace and real bravery. He has a real class edge on the typical CB. He should take a look at Rio Ferdinand who used to suffer from a lot of the same problems he does.

Ya, they've had better players for years indeed. It looks like they might be properly managed this year so the situation is looking grave. I think if Ferguson rated the raw material, he might have stuck around, despite him saying he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Report Ozymandius August 9, 2013 8:27 PM BST
Yeah. Luiz was fantastic at Confed Cup, looked inspired by atmosphere, home fans and the occasion.

I know a good few Porto fans who felt Anderson was the real deal and genuinely the next big thing.  It hasn't happened.

Watching Rio's testimonial on BT Sports. Quite impressed by the commentary.  United 2 down HT.

Don't have the channel Oz, not sure I'll bother either as won't be around many weekends this winter. From what I've seen in the friendlies, it has been the young players who have impressed. That is promising in its own way.
