Small fields but decent card tonight

6.15
Looks a straight match to me between Sir John Hawkins and Exogenesis, the step up to 7 furlongs sways me to Sir John.
7.20
Mars has never impressed me but he is better than these and should win
7.55
My old friend Neophilia runs up three pound, she is by Teofilio so will love the ground and Ronan Whelan will settle her
8.30
This is my nap and a horse I have been waiting for a while Donatis Comet.
He has one flat win but has won bumpers but he is ground dependant,he must have firm ground.
He was second to the improved in foal Knockcroghery at Bellewstown, the official ground was good to firm but they over watered the ground so didnt ride like that.
This distance and fast ground will see the best in this lad
9.00
Feile Na MBan was my eye catcher of all eye catchers in Naas in the infamous Naas race,I have explained it before but if you have the time go review it.
The outsider in this race didnt try at all last time,More Of The Same is owned by JP and surely will be looking on again.

Domatis Comet is a decent price and my nap and worth a few quid of anyone's money.

I CANT MAKE TONIGHT MYSELF , we had some really tough weather here last night , plenty of rain , this afternoon as i was heading out to lunch , it opened the heavens , in fact there was flash floods , i'm about 9ml from the track .So i'm sure it got into the ground .. So i'd be careful re donatis Wildmanfromborneo ...Especially if they've already watered ,       hope that helps ....

More rain now...
Report wildmanfromborneo July 25, 2013 3:46 PM BST
I rang the course for a ground description and they said good to firm but I appreciate the warning.

Ozymandius I haven't been as confident in a while so whatever your normal bet would be on a 10/1 shot double it this time but keep an eye out for the ground.

exogenesis hope wins tonight, dark angel progeny i take a special interest in following,  will need some more firepower for next years races.Cool
Report Deplasterer July 25, 2013 3:52 PM BST
Neophillia, was the one that unluckily done your double last time Wildman, so will follow her again, with a fair size bet & will have a modest ew on Donatis as long as the rain doesn't get in, (torrential thunderstorms up here at present).
Report wildmanfromborneo July 25, 2013 4:00 PM BST
The last race is some interesting race and one ye all should watch without a bet.

I have said my piece many times about Feile Na MBan and am almost pot committed but just watch the run of More Of The Same as I am think she will be holding a watching brief again.

Pardon the pun but more than likely will be More of the Same..

Tony. Based on what are you putting up Swans in the last.An unraced 4yo that has 2 half brothers and 1 half sister that have failed to raise a flag.I hope its more than maybe liking the animals name that has you tipping it up.Is there any depth to your fancy?

Neophilia,nap.

8.00 Giants Quest.
Smullen riding for Rogers take note. I think if anything is going to beat the fav this could be the one. In good form and 1m6f is far enough for him on the level. Has to be in 1st 3, at least. Cebuana might be the biggest danger.
Report Santry July 25, 2013 5:13 PM BST
An AOB double for me tonight . Sir John Hawkins and Mars. Both takes big drop in class and should benefit. AOB has made a terrible mess of Mars campaign so far but a win tonight can be the springboard to better things. Sir John Hawkins hasn't really delivered on the promise of his debut win but the step up in trip plus the slight ease in the ground should help.

Have a feeling Lyons Exogenesis is going to win the Tyros. I'm guessing the O'Brien runner is only in the middle of his pack and I'd say this might be the best horse Lyons has had going by his quotes. I was very impressed with him beating another one of Aidan's at Leopardstown last time too, AOB should have the line, but I think we've seen the best of his early/mid season types (the brilliant War Command) and he has yet to bring out his better more backward types.

In the 7:55, I'd be surprised if Pim Street doesn't prove a fair bit better than a mark of 57 at some stage, she seemed to be getting her act together on handicap debut when third and I'm backing her to take this.

Re the Group 3, they were coming out of the back and someone had 10K up to lay Sir John at 3.65. Whatever about one thought of it winning or not pre-race it was travelling as well as anything coming out of the back.

Rain to end all Rain just now at Leopardstown. Whatever about the rain last night this rain will definitely get into the Ground. It is bucketing down for the last 15 minutes
Report neill d July 25, 2013 7:13 PM BST
Might be one who is growing and has just gone a bit weak maybe lustrumm, just guessing, but he travelled like the horse with the most ability tonight. Lyons's ain't flashy though.
Report silvergreaser July 25, 2013 7:18 PM BST
A lot of Joseph O'Brien horses ridden from behind seem to be traveling well but he often goes from on the bridle to flailing away with his whip in a matter of strides, often they don't have as much in the tank as the jockey thinks they have.
Report neill d July 25, 2013 7:25 PM BST
Tbf, Bolger said in an interview after the Oaks that they hadn't been able to train Scintilula properly this year, The 7 runners put me off tonight as I felt she was a good e/w shout. I thought they were going to wait for the Give Thanks Stakes at Cork (Group 3), I expect that will be shafted now and they will aim higher.

There is a moral in this thread and that is dont believe racecourses about the state of the ground.

I rang Leopardstown because nearly all my selections needed fast ground, they told me ground good to firm and although they had had some rain was sunny now,I stupidly believed them.

In my opening post I state that both Neophilia and Donatis Comet must have fast ground,I had already placed some bets when Workrider told me about all the rain and stopped me n my tracks.

An apology is due to Deplasterer and Ozymandius for giving such duff advice but I hope they saw the changing ground and didnt bet.

A big thank you is due to Workrider for explaining the weather situation and saving this poster a right few quid.

i will give u a piece of advice wildman and this is sincere.keep yre stakes manageable and treat it as a hobby.this gambling game is not for u because even with all yre experience ,u have just not learnt how to play the numbers.

Report wildmanfromborneo July 26, 2013 12:43 AM BST
When you say taking on the bookies it is reasonable to assume you mean backing horses which is why I asked the question.

Still the best of luck at the cards.

Report Ozymandius July 26, 2013 9:23 AM BST
No worries, Borneo.
Report workrider July 26, 2013 9:31 AM BST
I think clerks of the course have a lot to answer for , time after time they give out incorrect information re the going ...Many trainers now find it hard to believe them , for them its , get plenty of runners no matter what , that now seems to be rebounding on them....
