AP, all day every day for me anyway. At his age and having accomplished practically everything there is to accomplish in jumps racing, the drive and desire to win that he still possesses is something remarkable, saw he went up to Cartmel for a handful of rides on Monday and flew by helicopter to Bangor from Southwell for a few rides last night as well I noticed. A living legend imo.

3.50 Worcester -This should make interesting viewing even tho I don't have a financial interest.
It could well be another Planetoid when poor Mattie Bachelor got stuck in traffic.

Jim 's Best hancicap debutant is currently 1.9 ,his recent Bsp returns in maidens 479,568,190,290.
Only beaten 50 lengths last time out so what will be the excuse for the improvement??
The application of a tongue tie or he appreciated the better ground or the application of $$$$

Wouldn't agree pa, thought he rode the perfect ride on him, had to win it on the bridle as the horses wind is v bad and you could see he was running on empty after jumping the last

Spent a lot of time looking between his legs all the same without putting the race to bed.Wind looked alright when headed and fought back.

Huge respect for AP's endurance and strength but Ruby is the better horseman and is peerless in a tight finish.
Report dj876 July 24, 2013 4:07 PM BST
Not AP's finest ride, mistake knocked him a bit and majority of Hawk Wings aren't the most straightforward. He went off very short didn't he,a good few entries over the nest few days including tomorrow which they thought they would be running with a mandatory penalty.

if handicapper has any sense he will put him up 6 lbs!!
Report snap crackle and pop July 24, 2013 4:15 PM BST
Shameless after timing I know but I laid it at odds on, going on what trainer said earlier on about his wind on ATR and knew AP wouldnt be able to give him usual power packed ride if it became tight

He won't be reassessed until Tuesday,so they will probably run before then anyway but damage is done for connections now,he will be over bet and everyone's card is well marked.

Vintage stuff from the champ on his last 2 rides at Worcester

A.P. Mc Coy all day long, he is the best in my book. A.P. started at the bottom and worked his way up to the top of the tree whereas Rupert started near the top of the ladder and through luck, nepotism and patronism, he has achieved a lot of success. Any competent rider given the same opportunities as Rupert would do just as well. Fehily and Townend easily filled his boots when he was out injured. Some good judges say they were better.

Why either or ,are we not steeped to have both riding in our times. Without doubt the two best NH of all time. Enjoy the spectacle  while we can because clock ticking on with both of them.

The number of times I see McCoy struggle to get horses jumping fluently is obscene (although obviously he rides a lot more donkeys than Ruby). I think Walsh completely outrode him on Champagne Fever in the Supreme Novices this year. My Tent or Yours should beat that horse every day of the week over flights at 2miles. Walsh mugged both McCoy and Robbie Power off.
Report Vubiant July 24, 2013 9:47 PM BST
McCoy and Walsh no better than dozens of other jockeys -they get better horses to ride and the media does the rest with hype and headlines every day.
