Coolmore report that St Nicholas Abbey has suffered a career ending injury at Ballydoyle this morning.

Vets are attending to him with hopes that he can be saved for a career at stud.

Very sad but hope the horse pulls through.

lol Monte, the Lord put sheep on the Earth to be fleeced.

I'll say something for Coolmore they are creative.

Jeez when one thinks back and they were one decent ride from being able to claim him as the next Nijinsky after winning the Triple Crown.

Have no doubt My Monte the horse will pull through for a "Glorious" career at stud

Facts don't matter to the Coolmore/Ballydoyle haters.

as camelot once said facts are facts!!

It's extremely likely to be a genuine injury,he is a 6 year old multiple group 1 winner who has ran to the same level for the last 2 years(Hasn't deteriorated anyway).
If he was an unproven 3 yo-I would be cynical.

I don't think there is any stallion by Montjeu currently standing at any of their farms-none of Montjeu's derby winners have excelled at stud either.Camelot will be one of their last chances of a Montjeu stallion.

Very sad to read that indeed , I really hope the horse pulls through , I cant understand the hatred of some on here .The poor horse knows nothing about how coolmore operates ...S .N A. one of the few hyped horses from that quarter that even JOHNNY was impressed by him ...Get well soon fella...

I was hoping he would run in the Arc.

One of my favourites, hope he pulls through. he shouln't really even be in training now, they totally mismanaged him in the way they campaigned (rushed) him at 3 and then rode him in a brain-dead manner a lot of the time when they got him back. He is the best horse they have had there in the last 5 years.

Took this from twitter.

St. Nicholas Abbey suffered a fractured pastern during a routine piece of work at Ballydoyle this morning.

He is currently in a comfortable condition at Fethard Equine Hospital, where he is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning.

Fingers crossed.

I was afraid to check. Of course to add to my ignorant comment I saw on the News that he is fighting for his life for real after breaking his hock. I think I'll leave Coolmore alone from now on both on the track and on here. Hope the horse is OK, was never a fan but caught him both times he won the Coronation Cup at Epsom.

Unfortunately St Nicholas Abbey had a major setback in his recovery during the night, suffering from a bad colic.

He underwent emergency colic surgery at Fethard Equine Hospital this morning and the prognosis is very guarded at the moment.

Soundin grim Sad

Poor horse.

Just curious how would he get Colic if he was sedated and in a box? I thought a horse only got Colic from an inability to digest bad grass or feed.

Be rooting for him anyway
