Never seen the Kilkenny Waterford qualifier as I was invited to a wedding in the Keadeen Newbridge Saturday night, but just watched a youtube video of the highlights and to be honest it seems because they Kilkenny have been so successful over the last decade or so has made referees almost pre programmed to screw them, decisions seem to go against them almost constantly, which probably makes them even a better team, not only beating their opponents but the ref as well?.
Not privy but the umpire was 3 feet away and never raised the green flag. After the ref told him to give it the umpire can be seen talking to the Kilkenny keeper and saying "I didn't give it" " I didn't give it" looking sheepish and apologetic.
That ref was clearly biased.

Gant you're gone into the usual mode it doesn't happen its all in somebodies head, but when you dissect these things a pattern actually starts to immerge, just take a look sometimes gant, you'd be surprised what you might find?

Bottom line, the best team most of us will ever see are not playing well. The Kilkenny we all know would have killed off that game and to be honest would have taken out Dublin. In my opinion no one is out to get Kilkenny, they are just struggling at the moment. Hurling people in Kilkenny don't believe this conspiracy.......they just want to beat Cork.

Only Kikenny invented dirty hurling, Tommy Walsh a PARIAH?, all the other teams are so innocent I'm almost going to play Bambi on TV just to confirm that fact.

Silvergreaser.......What pattern has emerged?. Kilkenny splayed poorly against Offaly. The ref did not influence the Dublin or Tipperary games and the old Kilkenny would have that game against a poor Waterford team wrapped up earlier.
Time to accept maybe that Kilkenny are not the team they were.

kk got the softest game changing peno of all time aganst tipp a few yr ago in an ll ire final.the year cody ate marty morrissey after the game. he knew it was a wrong call but like fergie bullied his way out of it.swings and roundabouts.

Its not so much this year gant but a general observation, refs seem to screw Kilkenny almost out of instinct, why should they not be allowed display their superiority and the guys from the munster media play the Kilkenny get away with murder card when its the total opposite, Munster teams get away with blue murder playing Kilkenny teams, murder an understatement?
The Munster media done a wonderful job.

Kilkenny have weathered the storm, gonna look a different outfit from here on in.Siege mentality in Kilkenny and will possibly be the sweetest All Ireland of all if they can pull it off.

Those refs that are screwing Kilkenny must be pretty useless as they have won nine All Ireland's this century.
How manybAll Ireland's do you think they would have won if the referees were fair?

All acknowledge the brilliance of Kilkenny recently but you can't deny Tipperary deserved their 2011 success, they were far and away the best team that year.

Sorry it is three years ago. I honestly never heard a Kilkenny man complain about that result and they were conscious of the history behind the so called drive for five. It was Lar Corbetts year and his hat trick was a joy to behold. Silvergreaser do you think Kilkenny were robbed in 2010.

not really on that day but a dry pitch might have made a huge difference, but over all Kilkenny as a team are getting the wrong end of the stick and nobody in the media are willing to step up for them, because its simple, the media is powered by jealous Munster PREJUDICES and refs are buying it. let the best team win how hard is that for a ref to get his head around?, and at least he'll have some scruples that he didn't deliberately screw over a team because of his own self conscious prejudices?

Wildman I'll give Duignan one thing he at least stands out from the jealous almost hysterical munster crowd, if we cant beat them on the pitch then we can manipulate the media to suit our agenda and naive refs buy it everytime apart from the fact you were beaten by a better team, but your influencing of referees is sickening!.

silver your a great man for conspiracy theorys.i suppose you got a speil on the jfk killing?!?and do you still reckon that elvis and jacko are still alive?!?..your stuff re kilkenny rally takes the biscuit.the greatest team of all time for certain.they play close to the edge of legality.and as such there will be refs think they cross the line.were blessed with the best ref for a long long time in brian gavin.and ffs they nearly took the nose off him 2 yr go!!.as for munster bias its rubbbish.some of them for sure look at the munster final thru rose coloured glasses but would you blame them.its usually a great occasion.2nd only to the all ire.if there was bias wouldnt they win the all ire more often surely?

What was it Gandhi said "if you're in a minority of one the truth is still the truth", thats the problem Kilkenny are winning All Irelands but sometimes they're brought to the pin of their collar because refs decide ah we've had enough of Kilkenny it would be nice to see someone else win it rather than let the game pan out the way it should pan out let the best team win and to hell with it.
An incident last year that really stuck in my craw was the sending off of Richie Hogan against Limerick in the qualifiers, yes Richie deserved to be sent off for striking with his hurl but it was an instant reaction what was probably the most blatant full frontal charge you will ever see, of course the linesman who was right beside the incident never seen it?, or the ref who was only a few yards away never seen it, or the munster media on the sunday game didn't see it, oh but they all saw Richies strike what a surprise?, and then continued to highlight incidents involvinhg Kilkenny players while the saintly Limerick had shining bright halo's around their innocent heads.

Silver greaser you are 100% correct there is a handicap system against kilkenny in place for the last few years. There is one set of rules for kilkenny and all other teams are reffed differently just look at the amount of steps Waterford got away with last weekend or the second Dublin match where the kilkenny backs could hardly challenge the Dublin forwards or a free was given where as the kilkenny forwards were being held/fouled every time the ball came near them and got very few frees.

oh how the munster media point out all kilkennys sins, but never in a month of sundays would they point out corks sins, tipperary sins, limericks sins or clares sins the founders of modern day hurling, yet only kilkenny sin because its suits their agenda and referee influence?.

Silvergreaser, you truly are a fine example of why the average KK fan is the sewer rat of Irish GAA fans. A wonderful team that have had great success playing on or over the edge for years, pity the county is populated by an inordinate amount of imbecilic morons. A few calls go against yee and the whinge fest begins.

silvergreaser Your a gas man.you go against what everyone knows is basic facts.ie..apob an wpm are the best what they do.you say no, anyone cold do the job.now your saying that despite kk playing close to the edge it the refs fault and they are angels compared to the evil munster monsters!!..and id agree 100% with silverbuck on a lot of what he say.as an offaly supporter during our good times in the 80s/90s we had many a good tussle with the cats both positive and negative.a high percentage of kk supporters i encountered were of the type described above.

Most of the Kilkenny supporters I met were genuine and loved hurling but this new whinge is something else.
Nearly all on here accept the brilliance of this Kilkenny team, they have a winners mentality but for some of their supporters to moan about unfair treatment is risible, some statisticians could get the figures for me but Kilkenny always get more frees than their opponents and seem to get the benefit of the doubt because they are champions.
If the Kilkenny supporters are crying like this when they are winning all round them God knows what will happen should they lose a match.
During the lean years of the nineties they never moaned at all.

i never said all.a higher proportion of them than most countys cant take a beating.it comes from winning most of the time i think.the best countys fans i came across, win or lose by a long way are cork fans.

Your position seems to have shifted your original complaint was that referees were doing down Kilkenny, now you seem to be blaming the media and some Munster conspiracy.
In fairness to you you can claim to be neutral but the Kilkenny supporters coming on here claiming they are hard done by is tough to take especially when the Kilkenny fans were noted for their magnanimity during the lean times.

pity I havent got the replays of all the sunday games that went by pa, actually the worst example ever was 2009 final it was so biased I nearly kicked the tv in, Kilkenny just won an all ireland final and you'd swear tipp were the winning team, the most sickening exhibition of bias I've ever seen.

The simple fact is that ref tried to do Kilkenny plain and simple. So yes we will whinge.
Why should this great team be downed by a referee ? Kilkenny fans will accept defeat when it comes ,but not in a manner like that.

The only team that can genuinely claim they were hard done by were the Clare team of the late nineties yet they took it with a grace that would put Kilkenny to shame. Kilkenny aren't even knocked out and still the whinge fest goes on,be like your team and man up.

free in either ways kavvie maybe the original foul was outside the box?. but as the media kept pointing out the whole night Tommy Walsh instigated Tommy Dunne swiping straight across the mans helmet could've nearly de-capitated the guy but it was Tommy Walshes fault for instigating it?, put the boot on the other shoe and Tommy would've been staring down a prison sentence?.

This thread is a heap of **** Silver. There has been bias but if anything it has been the other way around with KK's physical approach changing the way the game of hurling is played at the top level. That incident verses Waterford was pure human error and nothing else. Ridiculous thread, great team with nothing at all to complain about.

or maybe they would be better without obvious bias, watch the next game and see, Kilkenny forwards been beaten to a pulp and the opponents if kilkenny breathe on them?

even if you're in a minority of one the truth is still the truth.
Kilkenny are been rode by prejudice and I'll stand by everything I'm saying, refute it if you like, Kilkenny have to almost climb mountains to get a decision off the ref beaten to a pulp but its ok you're Kilkenny everyboy hates you, its wrong and should be stamped out.

Silvergreaser you are single handedly putting all neutrals off Kilkenny.
At every juncture Kilkenny are praised and called the best team of all time ( that is debatable in my view but nobody dares question it) most people can see that Kilkenny get more frees than their opponents yet here are, admittedly very few ,Kilkenny supporters claiming they are hard done by.

Of course they get more frees, why would they not?
They dominate a lot of games, and most teams prefer stop their forwards rather than let them have a run at goal.
This has worked this year with kk only getting 1 goal in 5 games.
I do think silver is getting a bit carried away at this stage

Cork won't make it physical, they are very light. Tipp have been as skillful as Kilkenny, it has been the physicalityt that KK have brought in the last few years (which the refs have interpreted as being part of the game) that has seen KK set themselves apart.

I Don't follow Sil, they played the game on the edge like no other team has before, they also had the best players, they won nearly everything and benefited from a very generous decision against a very good Tipp team that burned brightly yet fleetinmgly. There is no story here. Some of us are old enough to remember Eddie Brennan hammering the **** out of Seamus Hickey in the All-Ireland final in 07' as well. Always on the edge, toughest and most skilful, nothing to see here.

in fairness Neil so is whinging about kk physicality. The most serious injuries in last few years have been suffered by Kilkenny players.so deal with it.

Nothing against KK at all Irish, I admire their physicality. The point I am making is that they do whatever it takes, even if they have more ability than another team, they will bully them physically as well, and then never let up as seen by the numerous demolitions of the likes of Wexford. They don't just like to beat teams, they like to set them back, it is to be admired and is good for gambling people as it means they ride out to the finish so to speak and it is easire to get a gauge of where they are. Tipp were nearly as talented, but they just couldn't take the heat from Kilkenny, to be fair, i can't think of a team that I have seen that wouldn't have crumbled against KK. The all-Ireland final win over Waterford was the best hurling performance there will ever be quite possibly.

Well said Neill that's how it is. Not dirty but no mercy given and none expected.Would expect some serious fireworks against Dublin if they meet in the semi.

Yes, could be the game of what has already been a great year. They are showing some character on one lung at the moment. I think Richie Power could be the key man, he has everything, just has to put it all together like he was doing 2 years ago. I'd trust their backs to hold a team when it comes to the crunch. I think twill be a Limerick/Kilkenny final.

There you go silvergreaser spot on today took the biscuit all together kilkenny rode up a stick by incompetent Barry Kelly .Disgraceful performance shameful infact to send off sheflin fair enough but to see a cork man pull straight across Larkin for penalty which was red but he didn't even book him a joke but it doesn't matter kilkenny have won enough and the gaa are delighted they are gone they will have new winners now and kilkenny can suffer this until next year

Twas just proved on the Sunday game Shefflin never even touched the Cork man for the first booking.
Cork were the better team they won by 5 points against 14 men, kk had 2 points waved wide and cork had a wide given as a point.
Fair play me hole.Kelly should be ashamed of his performance.

In fairness lads, the ref fairly fooked em over this year and whoever beats em next year will probably win it. They just need to discover another forward, or get the likes of Walsh, Fennelly and Hogan to train on. loads left there.

Cork certainly were the better team first half but Kilkenny are renowned for not giving up, their backs in the second half were outstanding unfortunately the forwards misfired again albeit 15 again 14.
Anybody with an ounce of non biased blood in their veins will admit that Barry Kelly rode Kilkenny once again just like last years All Ireland Final. I know everbody hates them and are delighted they're gone but if you're going to get rid of them then at least do it fairly, in fact its astonishing how successful Kilkenny have been considering they been playing 16 men for years now eventually that no 16 was going to catch them in the end.
Kilkenny have looked vulnerable this year with some high profile injuries but I don't think its a case of the pack catching up more like Kilkenny going back into the pack.
Very naive Pa to dismiss them and say their time is up?.

Mediocre from KK most of this season and you say they are going back to the pack and i agree with that.

Kilkenny have come back to the pack and I see a nice period of decline setting in for them. Cody should go now gracefully and let someone else rebuild the team.
