I would imagine the ground will be fast unless there was a lot of watering.
Is Rebel Fitz likely to be a Non Runner??It should be an interesting contest with Beachdale Lad if he does run.
I think Rebel Fitz needs to have his third run over fences to get a chase rating for the Galway Plate.
I thought there was a bit of value in Beachdale Lad's price this morning with the ground against Rebel Fitz and having his first try over the trip, but no doubt Rebel Fitz is the class horse of the race and BJG in the saddle is another major positive.

I am not sure Fast Ground is a major negative for Rebel Fitz because he has won 3 times on good ground, probably they just don't want to be taking a chance on it with a good one.All considering probably a race to watch for me.
Trappy enough Card I think.

Agree with what you are saying,30lb difference on hur ratings still you kind of plump for Beachdale lad on trip, ground, price and running style.
Rebel starting to look disappointing after being hailed as the second coming last year, doesn,t seem to be finishing his races well.
Maybe will run as the first few nonners are in?

The Qualified riders race at 7.10 the race to look at for me.

Midnight Oil looks a dog to me so is probably a false favourite,Marchese Marconi is very slow and is ridden by Sarah OBrien who is not yet in the same league as Ana.
Flaxen Flare isint consistent and hasn't run well on the flat for ages which brings me to False Economy he loves this ground and distance and funnily enough his danger is the Willie Mullins trained second string Digeanta, his form is moderate but at least its current

False Economy to win from Digeanta.

rebel fitz is 100% certain to run and will love the ground, been told it will be well punted now that its levels you devils, clearly in a different league to beachdale lad, a summer horse who would be completely outclassed if pitched in to a spring championship race.
stamina of rebel fitz is the one and only question mark in play.

for the record Wildman, when midnight oil was in cumanis I was asked to check its viability for jumping. had a contact in the yard and he told me the horse had a very light mouth and had to do it all on the bridle, hence you know your fate with him once the stick iis pulled. surprised that you have dismissed klepft in that race considering he gets a lumpy weight allowance and is a festival winner.
once upon a time before ballydoyle of the APOB era started supporting this track with runners, DK Weld dominated down here. I have a hunch cocktail hour has the look of rock solid e/w bet in the opener.

Wildman
I like flaxen flare, true his flat form is not great and this does have the look of a prep for galway..but if the horse runs anywere to his jumps form he,ll be there abouts? at the prices..he,s worth bet imo

I didn't think Rebel Fitz would love the ground but you seem fairly confident that he will KL.As I said previously he has won 3 times on good ground but looking at some of the trainers quotes would suggest fast ground isn't ideal

Winters said: "I've walked the track and they've done a good job watering the ground, but we still wouldn't mind a drop of rain.
"Hopefully it's all right as we'd like to run him. He seems in grand form. I'm very happy with him."(15/07/2013)

After race at Clonmel Thu, 10th May, 2012 (1st) The plan is to go chasing with him in a couple of weeks,. That was beautiful ground, pure National Hunt ground, and once we get a slight ease he'll be chasing away for the summer.

After race at Cork Sun, 16th Oct, 2011 (1st) We were very happy with him coming here today. The rain came which suited.

The usual top notch post from Keen Leader,i was going to reply to his comments on Cocktail Hour by saying an absolute hound definitely wont be winning glad I kept quiet.

Ah but the fav refused to take part ....would it still have won..
Report roadrunner46 July 16, 2013 8:37 PM BST
good posts for rebel fitz, just read the profile, 20 races and 11 wins now, seems like a horse that enjoys winning,
250k in prize money. cocktail hour had been dropping down the weights and good win, usually notnowcatos's progeny
are much better on good to soft or heavy. time was really slow compared to the other race on the card. was probably
very weak race. good tipping all the same.
Report wildmanfromborneo July 16, 2013 9:08 PM BST
Cocktail Hour has not been dropping down the weights as she has yet to run in a handicap.

The enthusiasm of Michael Winters is contagious and I am delighted he has such a good horse.
Report ChildOfMine2 July 16, 2013 9:13 PM BST
Rebel Fitz unlikely to run & becoming a bit disappointing?? Are yas for real lads?? All of his bad runs have been on soft/heavy ground and everybody should know by now that he needs good ground or even faster. Hasn't Mikey Winters said that enough? How anybody thought he wasn't going to run, or even not win, today is beyond me. Miles better than those and would have won just as easy even if the second fav hadn't have fallen.

^ different bait needed.
Report wildmanfromborneo July 16, 2013 9:27 PM BST
Poor Beachdale Lad was destroyed and I was not sure Rebel Fitz was going to catch him, doubts about Rebel Fitz running would have been a worry about a fall on that ground.
Report ChildOfMine2 July 16, 2013 9:39 PM BST
Different bait pa? This is nothing got to with bait. I'm just pointing out pure facts that anybody into Irish NH racing should know!

Fair fecks to ya,you are a clairvoyant genius.
Report roadrunner46 July 16, 2013 9:48 PM BST
not to familar with the way irish racing works, fair enough hadnt been dropping down the weights, rating was going down.
ok was a maiden race, still on initial first rating was much higher than the other horses in the race. agree about rebel
fitz, looked an excellent even money shot, you know the ones that always win.
Report ChildOfMine2 July 16, 2013 9:57 PM BST
You don't have to be a genius to read a trainer's quotes!
Report kavvie July 16, 2013 9:58 PM BST
irish racing works the same way as it works everywhere else..!!maidens..handicaps etc!!
Report roadrunner46 July 16, 2013 10:12 PM BST
