Up bright and early, not much to do only drink coffee and smoke cigarettes until its time to go to the Kildare/Dublin match in hope rather than confidence mind you!.

So was doing a little studying, made a small profit yesterday, but we seen the good and the bad from Joseph O'Brien, fine ride on Count of Limonade, got his whip all tangled up on Hanky Panky, found traffic problems by giving Justification far too much to do lucky he just grabbed a place to make me a small profit.

Same as yesterday difficult card, first 2 races a no go area for me. Narrowed it down to 3 bets.

Moran Gra 3.05, reasonably handicapped course and distance winner, thought well enough to send to Royal Ascot finished well down the field but only beat a little over 6L's, O'Briens Fortify is interesting but its form has hardly been boosted, at around 12/1 MG looks a solid ew option.

Shirrocco Star 3.35, has form that ties in closely with Princess Highway and Was, all 3 have a verdict over each other, the fav was certainly visibly impressive last time but that was only a listed contest, the other at the front of the market bring solid Group form to the table, with Shirrocco Star nearly double the price of PH & Was at a general 8/1 looks another sound ew investment.

Jembatt 5.45, a bit of a stab in the dark here, but one thing you can say about Jembatt the horse is thrown in on its best form hasnt shown much lately but 2 runs ago the horse was held up out the back before meeting trouble in running and then running on nicely, also a CD winner, at the huge odds of 33/1 no harm in having a speculative ew wager.

Happy punting!.

When I think of Ballydoyle the first thing that comes to mind is that when the ground is fast they really come into the into their. Anyone remember Royal Ascot a few years ago when they had 12 winners on fast ground.

The Irish Derby meeting is their core meeting and usually you can sum up your form study by just backing their horses blind in the conditions races.
So why all the reversals this week. Is it a case that the punters are over-betting them?
After all they have had 3 winners.

Until things settle down with this crew and the punter has more of a sense what they are doing my own view is that they have to be treated like Barney Curley i.e. any race where they are involved is ruined in advance and to be avoided for having a bet

The shrewdest trainer (imo) in the game WT Farrell has one in the last SO DEVOTED.  It has the profile of a horse primed to do the business in this weak h'cap.  The booking of Patrick Smullen is a statement of intent.

This first favourite is an insane price. I know nothing and sitting at home on my laptop but surely it must be obvious to all now that Ballydoyle are now sending all the horses to the races undercooked. There is money for it now at 4/5 but I don't care what anyone says all is not as normal with them first time out, nithwithstanding this is a 2yo and not an older horse
