A Dublin woman tried to sue a well known night club claiming that the floor was slippy causing her friend to fall and pull her down resulting in a broken arm.
The night club maintained that the plaintiff was engaged in a "kinda dirty dancing style" dance which was dangerous and reckless.
The judge rejected these dance moves and ruled the club was not negligent and the person was just unlucky.
Costs against the woman have amounted to over a 100k.

Some common sense at last and hard to feel sympathy for the woman involved.

Love to know the name of the firm of Solicitors and Barrister who were representing her , €100k legal costs, where did they pluck a figure like that from?

I need to know what song she was dancing to and whether or not she was a looker before I make up my mind.

Probably has a few quid anyway to take such a risky case on, unless she was seriously badly advised.

Shakira was the song Neill D, not being too familiar with that melody your view would be appreciated in regards "dirty dancin" could be performed to it.
Costs of the defendants went against her as well SG.

Even so pa seems like an extreme figure for a simple compensation claim don't you think?.

Nothing is cheap in the High Court SG, big sums there. Someone should have told to her cop on anyway,it wasn,t watertight.

'Hips don't lie', yeah it could easily Pa, a good fit. Wouldn't like the idea of her recovering on this one Pa, we're litigious enough as it is and this would be a serious floodgates job. Thumbs down for the lady with the broken arm.

It's not just the scoring but the validation, they are providing a great public service. In hindsight, perhaps our learned friends have been too hard on this woman. Her and her kind give many young Irish men the boost that gets them out of bed for work on those dark winter mornings. They're pulling as hard as anyone on the wagon lads.
